That's a love letter if I ever did read one. Have you 100%'d the games?Populus89 said:Love it for it's atmosphere. It's gaming art in it's purest form.
Well I'm glad someone saw some damned sense and realised that was nonsense. But it's Kotaku, sensationalist bull is the order of the day, at least Destructoid takes the piss most of the time, but Kotaku is meant to be serious...Jonatron said:Kotaku's report of 'downgrading' is heavily exagurated. Water effects were downgraded, but the arm cannon's effects HAD to be removed due to the fact that CG Metroid's camera moved with Samuses arm, whereas the Wii Metroid's camera does not move with the arm. The GC animation which was removed was 2D, so it wouldn't have worked. Alot of the textures have apparently been bumped up too.
That Kotaku might have had a significant effect on sales. Several folk I've heard having second thoughts because of that report. A bloody water ripple and the loss of the light seeping out of the side of the arm cannon/Ice freezing over it isn't significant. Well, the Ice is, but that's besides the point.ChromeAlchemist said:Well I'm glad someone saw some damned sense and realised that was nonsense. By the way, the Prime trilogy is amazing. I played the Prime trilogy, Metroid 1, Super Metroid, but not the rest. I shall soon enough though.
Underrated? It got >90 on Metacritic, and is generally critically aclaimed... Took me a while to get used to the style, really, but since I have... Hell, this last 2/3rds of MP2 are getting done without hints on. They really arn't neccesary for me anymore. Unlike most Nintendo games they changed their premise and it worked perfectly. Altogether a great game.
Indeed I was... what was it for again? Oh! To take a vegan and EAT IT! wasn't it?will1182 said:Ooo, Metroid, it really doesn't get enough love.
1- I've played and beaten Metroid, Super Metroid, Prime 1, Prime 2, Prime 3, Prime Hunters and Zero Mission. I'm on the hunt for Fusion and Return of Samus.
2- Absolutely
3- multiple times, and each on the hardest difficulty
4- It's my favourite game of all time. As well as my favourite franchise. I'm quite the fanboy.
EDIT: Hey, weren't you the guy that gave me that Mario cookie earlier?
