I love him, very funny at the awkward teenager role. I know he only plays one role but who cares because he's good at it. Probably Juno or Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist I think are his best.

He'll probably look exactly the same, and be doing the same stuff, only then, instead of an awkward high schooler, he'll play an awkward college student in every movie he's in.

Don't give a fuck about him or any other actor in depth...

But so far, he seems an okay guy. Plays the whole "shy awkward teenager" role pretty well, which noticeably riles up some posters in this very thread. Eh's a pretty cool guy, I guess.

Now he's an awkward 30-something.

Ta-da! Mr. Cera is set. For. Life.

Either zombieland or scott pilgrim, I have disliked him in anything else.
He wasn't in Zombieland but I'd say his best role was in Superbad I thought that movie was hilarious.

He makes a good awkward high schooler/young adult, especially in SPvtW. But there are WAY better actors that I'd rather watch.

But Scott Pilgrim was such a damn good movie, I had multiple nerdgasms.

Funny dude. People who hate him because a lot of his roles are similar apparently haven't noticed how often this happens to many actors and actresses. Besides, look at him. He's not going to be a for real tough guy or ladies man. Just not gonna happen.

His eyebrows are barely there, though. People without eyebrows freak me out.

I think he's okay. He has a tendency to play the same character over and over again, but that's no reason to hate him.

But I would really love it if he tried something new. He can fail at it, for all I care, but I just want him to at least try. :p

Well if he isn't dead by then, I see few options for him being be typecast as an awkward forty year old man, being a drug addict/ending up killing someone, or if Scott Pilgrim eventually turns a profit he might hopefully be put in a different role.

Its been said before.

He may play characters that are the same, but so does Sly Stallone.

I don't see many people getting all up in a rage over The Expendables because its got Stallone playing a tough guy.

He is now typecasted as the socially awkward teenager, so he might as well be dead in my book. I don't mind him too much, but I am tired of seeing him play the same character over and over and over.....

He is the face of hipster kids everywhere.
That kinda explains my tendency towards disliking Michael Cera.

His recent movies tend to cry out "Look at me! I wear interesting clothing!Look, I listen to indie music. Cool! Now I'm going to style my hair so that it swishes upwards in a way that says I don't care about my appearance even though I do. I'm so non-comformist that I actually am a conformist, because so many people are like me it makes your average person want to take out a knife and rip out their own spleens so they don't have to see people like me anymore!"

*clears throat*

Apologies for that rant. I am just sick of the indie craze.

I say that he's a great actor waiting to happen he just needs time to break out of his shell. Right now all he can play is the awkward teenager but if he's given the chance he might surprise us with what he can do. Scott Pilgrim was only a small reach from what he's already done. He just needs weened off that role he'll incrementally get better. Just give the guy a chance, he hasn't really done much yet.

Well I've liked everything he's in and I've liked all of his roles so I guess I like him... but don't let it go to your head my love can be as deadly as my hate...
