I wish they would put kinect out by itself for 100 bucks. As a 360 owner I find myself attracted to the concept of kinect, but not so much the games that are currently announced for it. I certainly would not play adventures much, if at all.

Far too expensive. I probably wouldn't get it even if it were $100. It's just too much money for a product that I will not like at all.

And it's not even good for the casual crowd! They could pick up a Wii which already has a far larger library of better games for only $50 dollars more, and $100 dollars less if they don't own a 360 yet.

It looked promising, and has potential but general lol at paying $150 for what is basically a webcam and some software; no thank you. Also, the casual-gamer / childish Wii crap they seem to be going for with it has majorly put me off, just like their "New XBox Experience" thing from ages ago. Please stop being Nintendo, Microsoft.

Not even considering it until they actually make games for it and lower the price.

Ah stop your whining guys. The price is fair.

Me? I think that I will go for the bundle deal myself.

I actually HAVE AN EYETOY and if the lighting isn't good, the games are basically unplayable. But even with better lighting I doubt I would have paid 150 dollars for it... I just don't grasp how this Kinect thing is going to be successful at all...

What was the point of the whole "THAT'S NOT CONFIRMED. SRS. WE NEVER SAID THAT." thing if they're just going to go on and say "Oh, yeah, that... was the price."

If any Playstation fanboys start saying that Kinect is so much more expensive than move, they should look at this:

The Playstation Move Starter Pack is priced at $99.99, and then the chances are you'll want another controller to play with friends (let's be honest, most motion control games are designed for play with other people), that's an extra $80 unless you want to buy another bundle (adding up the wand and the navigation stick thing). That doesn't include a charging kit or any other accoutrements that you care to buy. So any Sony fanboys who say that Move is cheaper should look at the actual price of what Sony are releasing.

One of the main reasons the Wii was so much more popular than the other two consoles was that the console (with Remote, Nunchuk and game) was much cheaper than the other consoles. Even the MotionPlus addon was only £35 with another game.

But £200 for a 360 and then £100 for Kinect? No, especially as it's basically a slightly more efficient EyeToy.
It's £129.99 over here. So it's been announce over at edge.

Interesting. Britain gets ripped off, as ever (£/$ exchange rate is 1.5 so it SHOULD be £100)
But...
I've just realised that maybe I've been barking up the wrong tree with my finance comparisons, and that the price of Kinect is significantly cheaper than 4 WiiMotes and 4 Nunchuks.

I'm going to hang my head in shame now.

Wow... whatever interest I had in this was just beaten to death with a giant steel rod that also happens to be Microsoft's stupidity (shame on you if you thought I was going to say something else :p). Honestly, I doubt there will be ANY worthwhile games out on the Kinect that won't be able to use a controller for as well.

The $300 bundle could really take off if they market it well. It'll probably outsell the stand-alone Kinect which I assume is what Microsoft wants. I guess I should expect everyone here to hate out of principle but it's not for you. Microsoft is trying to grab a piece of the casual gaming market. The majority of the people who make up that market don't give two shits about storage space so that won't be a problem. Doesn't the Wii have 512 megabytes of flash memory? I suppose that held it back, right? The price tag on the bundle isn't bad at all when compared to a Wii and the Motion+ controllers necessary for four people to play. If they can keep the casual friendly games coming then this just might work.

I'mmuna wait to get Kinect. There is no way i can fuel my Airsoft addiction AND pay over £100 for a new game thingy on launch. 'Specially since I bought an AR-15, an now have no money.

Oh, so the game they've bundled with it is Kinect "ADVEENTUUUURES". I'm certain it's gonna be more like this:
Yeeeaaah. $300 dollars for a shiny new Xbox (Probably one still WITH the fucking Red Ring of Death.), no hard drive or memory space, a gimmicky eyetoy, and possibly a retarded sports game.

What a fucking value.

I was thinking "huh, the $299 bundle isn't actually too bad at all!" Until I saw the lack of hard drive...

Really? 4 GB? They think that that, plus 32 GB on a usb will be enough for ANYBODY in this day and age? Such a lack of storage should be a thing of the past, to be honest...

As for the price, this isn't exactly unexpected, but its a hard blow for Microsoft... I certainly wouldn't get it, even if I had a 360.
Don't the old hard drives work =O

These prices seem reasonable. No, really. $100 for a Kinect plus $50 for the poster-child game that goes with it... that's pretty reasonable.

I know a lot of you are throwing your hissy fit right now, but unless you are a raised-by-Linux-wolves, born-with-an-Apple-in-your-mouth, hippy, communist Microsoft hateboy... you'll still get this. It's simply the way of the universe.

I'm still holding out much higher hope for Move than Kinect... but I'd going to give each tech its fair chance instead of resorting to the snark and faux-discerning opinions.
