So yesterday, I found out that my main Xbox 360 profile, the one with all of my save data from all of my games, was corrupted. I saw "Recover Gamertag" on the Dashboard menu and gave it a look-see, but it seems in order to recover my profile, I need to get on Xbox Live. I can't, nor have I ever been able to get an Xbox Live connection. I need a solution.

And so I contact Xbox Support. I outline my problem and make certain that it's clear they know I've never had an Xbox Live account, never had an Xbox Live connection, and am currently incapable of getting a Live connection. This morning, I got a response.

Guess what the fuck it said.

I ask you, dear fellows, if it is indeed possible to un-corrupt my profile given my current predicament.
Wait, was it your hard drive or just your account?

and how large is your hard drive?
My account was corrupted, and I have a 20GB HDD.

In that case, if you really want that save data, I'm pretty sure that you can keep it on a different profile. It will, however, take time and money, and I'm not even entirely sure it would work.

What you would have to do is: Buy a 512 mb memory card, copy data from your hard drive using a new account, thus changing the save to that account's. Then delete it from the hard drive and copy it back on, making it the same save but someone else's. This would fuck up all achievements for current games however, and possibly make it impossible to get any more, and would take an hour or so, maybe half that if you chose your favourite saves.

Alright, so I just deleted my profile and five years of save data that couldn't be transfered.

I'm really not feeling too good right now.

i gave up on xbox after i had to go through 4 of them in less than 2 years, and my warranty was up somehow...so i came to a conclusion that the xbox was only useful for smashing with a hammer, which is exactly what i did, because after all it was broken and i had no warranty anymore.
so i got a ps3

happened to my roommate
we just started over. kind of fun actually. gives incentive to play old games again- save some money while youre playing older games and not buying new ones.
