Steam goes the other way, making it so convenient for even the smallest purchases, I'm telling you I have spent a ridiculous amount on Steam but I was never forced to pay for anything that I didn't actually want.

I've never had an issue with GFWL. I've got DoW and that requires GFWL. I entered in my gamertag and go. Y'all are complainin' way too much.

Although I already own Dead Rising 2 and Fallout 3, I have considered buying them again for the PC. I was very tempted to get one of 'em from GFWL, 'cause free money is free money, but then I found out I'd still have to buy all the DLC separate. I am not interested in paying $80 for Fallout 3 (that's including all the DLC), considering how long ago it was released. As for Dead Rising 2, GFWL has it listed at $40 and 400 points simply isn't worth spending that kind of money on games that should be far, far cheaper than they are.
I love the ability to purchase digital copies of games, and the fact that PC games are generally cheaper than console games, but Microsoft rips you off left, right and center. I'll deal with it when I want to stream a movie or must get 'that new DLC zomg', but if I can help it, I'll avoid it.

GFWL got me Age of Empires 3 for 10MSPoints that I had left around from buying stuff on my Xbox, on the other hand it eats processing power like crazy and crashes anything it requires more often then not.
To the half dozen or so posts I've seen complaining about GFWL and the DoW series: Buy DoW II:Retribution. It is a standalone expansion to the game and doesnt require GFWL. You get more races, more maps, multiple campaigns, and no GFWL for ~$30.

My response to Micro$oft's attempt to increase sales for their GfW by giving you 5$ of Micro$oft points.
Actually, not being able to physically play both at the same time, doesnt exclude doing things like trying to run multiple games making use of things like the pause button.mjc0961 said:

Im playing a PC game. My little brother, who isnt allowed to have his own XBL account (because they cost money) wants to play some xbox online, and knows Im not playing it, because Im on the computer. When he asks me if he can play, I have to tell him no, because my paid XBL Gold membership, is being used by a free windows service, so he cannot play.
Making me tie up my PAID SERVICE with a free service, which then prevents me from using the paid service, is not good business. And to anyone who says 'Just make a different account on GFWL, duh' The games are already tied to it, since this is the kind of detail you find after setting it all up. And, pretty sure windows wants your msn emails anyway, which xbl also prefers.
I'm glad the system works so well for you. However, in certain games, I am never signed in automatically no matter what box I check, my information is never retained no matter what box I check, the sign in process is excessively lengthy, and it always fails one or more times before it finally signs me in. And each time it fails, I have to reenter all my information. GFWL is the only program which consistently subjects me to this kind of hassle.mjc0961 said:
