Good for Microsoft, nip any "pedophile game" accusations in the bud. But what will NAMBLA do now without a digital outlet?

I thought the main problem with Milo was that it failed to recognize a black journalist. Hinting at the fact is was only programmed without any thought to non white people.

Whats most intresting about this story is it came via GoodGame. I wasn't aware anybody still watched that show. Anyway, since I was never overly fond of Kinect I was never really intrested in Milo, even if he is an intresting bit of tech.
I watch it. It's one of the highlights of my week. I was a little disappointed when Junglist left, but Hex isn't too bad.

Too bad. It would have been quite a lot of fun to actually have an A.I. to interact with on the human side.
What if we could punch Milo in the face?

So wait, the most interesting, and original, thing Kinect had was primarily a demonstration on its capabilities, and now all we get is Wii game ripoffs?

..."Kinect: Virtual Boy"
I think Someone Else [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Boy] may have the rights to that name already :D
That's the point! Microsoft copies Nintendo once, why not twice more?
Actually, they copied Sony.

Kinect is just an...actually working...Eye Toy.

Then for all we know Milo never "reacted" to comments, but instead was just a pre-recording.

Molyneux=reason for me to get a license to kill. And not for this, god no! For other reasons... you know yourselves, fellow molyneux-haters.

EDIT:

And thus the Eyepet turned Pedophillic.

I kid, I kid. It just turned alot less interactive.

Calumon: Wow, so first you pay about £100 then another £40 just to interact with someone who isn't real? Why not just add Spleak to MSN? (LOOK IT UP!)

I figured it couldn't have been much more than a demo of the possibilities NATAL could bring about. As a game, MILO seemed pretty useless. Why would anybody want to befriend a little boy? Especially a virtual one? Unless of course PROJECT MILO is an attempt at one-upping the rapelay games by being the first child molestation simulator.

Player: "Hey Milo, how do you like this drawing I made?"
MILO: "Wow, this look just like me! I do like the taste of mushrooms..."
Well I can't see the point of befriending a little boy as the only point of the program. They would have to come up with something a bit more than that to make it entertaining.

However the scary thing is that I think you hit the nail on the head for what people would probably wind up trying to use it for. What's more I could easily see someone producing such things in Japan or whatever (though whether they would make it to the US is unknown).

I remember years ago that there was an issue over porn companies wanting to release movies on UMD for the PSP and it was determined that Sony couldn't stop them from releasing in that format. Leading to jokes about the "Pornstation Portable" despite being a bit of a perv, I'm not really that into porn, and never bothered to check it out and see what was released.

However, I'd imagine it will be only a matter of time before we see exactly what your suggesting.

I think this game was meant for children, like a sort of a "virtual play-mate" etc... still very pointless but I suppose it could've have been a good marketing strategy to persuade parents that despite the ton of 15/18 rated games for the 360, it could still be a family-friendly console... they obvisiously changed their minds though :p

Damnit!

Now who knows how long I'll have to wait to make friends with a dead-eyed 3D model on my TV.

it's these kind of features that make me think in my head "well if you aren't doing what you showed what are we getting?" then i think about a random bowling game or hit the ball back and forth.

If you were THAT stupid then I guess that you can afford a new TV as well.
