The Microsoft ponits system makes since - it's just unfortunate that things are priced to cause us to have points left over so we ultimately have to buy something again to use the points, which means we add points, etc. Then again, they could price everything at 500/1000/1500 instead of 400/800/1200 so our accounts always balance. How would you feel about that?
Well it doesn't work in the USA because the items here go for 400,800 and 1200..
sucks to be in the UK with your points system.

See, I don't see why there's so much Microsoft hate.
Well, there's the aggressive takeovers, multiple patches, absurd pricing, forcing to pay for DLC, monopoly violations, snooping, underhand marketing techniques, utilizing the opponent's handiwork to condemn them, lying in their advertisements, poor customer service...
So can people stop going on about how Microsoft is the devil's own company now, please?
One olive branch doesn't make a grove.
I suppose I can't disagree with most of that, except for the following. I found Microsoft pricing to be pretty fair a lot of the time, since I've basically paid a lump sum but been able to reuse the same software over and over again (I still use Microsoft Office from the old XP days on my laptop running Vista). I can't say anything about the adverts though, since I haven't seen many, but I also have used the customer service line a few times and I've never had anything but good service from them. Especially when I had the RRoD, I phoned customer service and they were much more helpful and considerate than any other helpline I've ever had to call...
I can throw the weight of my experience with them behind this as well, I don't remember getting any free xbox live as you said you did above, but the help line was, god forbid, helpful and they promptly organized for my xbox to be sent off and repaired (faulty disk drive...made faulty by my retard sister cramming two dvds in at once). Fantastic compared to Apples customer service of "I see your ipod has bricked, well, fuck off we don't care" (Apple and Microsoft being the only faulty product related technical support I've needed in the recent past).
