Nono, it'll work in tandem with the Kinect. Think about it. Real-time 3d body scanning plus an up-close display that responds perfectly to head movements. It would allow HUDs that respond to your hand movements in 3d space. Not to mention the possibilities for immersion. Though considering we still can't get two 3d models to interact well, I doubt they'd be able to get one to shake your hand, let alone actually look right engaging you in combat.dimensional said:Have they given up on kinect already then? and unless this is dirt cheap I dont think they will have much success people generally dont like paying money to look stupid.
Maybe they got the patent to stop anyone creating such a stupid thing.Adam Jensen said:Another one in the long line of terrible patents no one will ever have any use of.

Next up on the patent list will be a 360° treadmill for full-range movement(they exist, but I don't believe Microsoft has patented one yet). Then, tactile suits for perfect feedback.
If they do I'm buying it! It comes with it's own lifetime supply Tylenol ;DChaosritter said:I hope they gonna implement force feedback. XD
Immersion yes, awareness of anything else such as fires and things, no. Also, it's stupid. That idea died in the 90s.Esotera said:Why all the hate for this? If it's successfully implemented (which I doubt it will be) then this thing would be absolutely awesome for immersion.
One problem: The game is on a stationary 2D display regardless. You'll need that to follow you as well.Singularly Datarific said:What I'd want more than that is a Helmet-Mounted HUD, so all of the diagrams and minimaps and ammo counters would be part of your helmet, while the actual game part of the game is on the TV.
Because its sadly true in this case.DustyDrB said:The people who love to throw around the term "console tard" are going to have a field day with this.
