I dream of a world were there are thousands of Halo games. Literally thousands. Over a certain number of thousands.

Anyway, why does the five in the screen shot mysteriously look like it belongs on a pack of gum?

Oh god, not more Halo, I've already had as much as I can put up with this Call of Duty craze.
So don't buy it. There's nothing to complain about.
I've never bought a CoD game either, thats not what I meant. What annoys me is everyone constantly going on about it when its just so . . bland and generic. And hell, even if I liked the games, people constantly going on about them would still annoy me, though I suppose probably not as much.
So have you ever played these games or are you just pretending to have an opinion on something that doesn't affect you in anyway other than seeing a couple of threads on a forum about them? :p

And using the call of duty argument is just so old, come up with a better argument than just comparing stuff to call of duty.

I'm reminded of that commercial ages ago for, "Playstation 9". Most likely, this is a nod to the futuristic setting the context is supposed to be in. Second most likely, its the 5th part of some video or something Halo related. 3rd, a logo was invented without any real thought, and people are reading into it too much. The odds of this being an actual Halo 5 seem remote.

in the pic it seems that its the name of "HALO" with the 5 from Resident evil 5

my guess??? they just added those to "fill space" and "make fun" of the media

Never really liked halo. Was hoping for a break from it after reach came out but I guess Microsoft aint gonna let that happen.

To me it seems like a joke. The Microsoft Home is this futuristic idea, so they put Halo 5 there as a way to say "LOOK! IT'S THE FUTURE!"
+1 I certainly think this is most likely. It's far too easy to slap a "5" on the end at this stage in the games life cycle. With things the way they are, any "Halo 5" would need to be a reboot with a slightly more intriguing title.

EDIT: But then, Project Gotham would surely follow the numeral-slap trend, also?

Halo Wars was terrible, if anything it taught us that RTS's belong on the PC and that they should stay on the PC. But this looks like Microsoft is jumping the gun, unless they considered Halo: Reach to be the fourth installment. Either way, I'm not getting it unless Bungie inserts their five cents, they created it. It would be wrong to make a game without their opinion.

As a Halo fan... I say no more Halo!

Bungie had the sense to leave the franchise. Microsoft will just milk it so dry that the painful feeling it leaves will corrupt even the most diehard fans.

Maybe they consider Halo: Reach to be Halo 4 since, even though it's a prequel, was released after Halo 3.
Good point. Rather like Metal Gear Solid 3? Way to mess up the continuity Microsoft!

I'm guessing here that they probably thought of Reach as number 4. However I always feel that games with subtitles and no number should not be counted as "official" games in the series. Look at Resident Evil, there are numerous spin off titles but there's still a core series running through the middle, 1 to 5. (Does RE: Zero count?)
Tell that to CoD fans, I hate it when Call of Duty : World at War gets called Cod 5 >.< TO me there hasnt been a Call of Duty 5 yet, just lots of spin offs

Halo 5? I guess the Halo 4 bit is like the whole MGS5 thing that sorta morphed into MGS Peace Walker. It's probably some Halo Kinect thingie that is using the name as a placeholder thingie, assuming they are internally counting Halo: Reach as Halo 4, and nothing more.

If its good I'll buy it, but I cant see where they could go with it now. I don't think it can get as bad as COD is now. I really hope they dont start klling the franchise.

The reason I hate COD is because its very lazy and almost nothing changes yet it comes out every year without fail for a higher price than other games, which are better.

Halo has superior balance imo and is much friendlier to offline multiplayer fans, with 4 player story coop, firefight, forge+ the multiplayer modes its a better all round shooter. The level design is superior also IMO

sometimes its repetitive yes but the shooting mechanics are really smooth, the enemies are varied and have differing mechanics associated with them, it's more of a "night in with the guys" type game were you can bring another xbox and a tv and have 4 way multiplayer with just 2 tvs, 2 360s and a cat 5 cable.

the physics engine is robust and sometimes comedic too.

I have Halos 1 - 3 and Wars laying around somewhere. But I don't mean about on these forums - though that is annoying too - but in daily life, its plastered all over the internet, on tv, and I hear twats and little kids going on and on about it all the time (note: I'm not implying everyone who likes cod is a twat, but I hear a lot of twats talk about it)

What do you mean 'call of duty argument'? I'm not comparing anything to call of duty, I'm saying I got sick and tired of everyone everywhere going on about it all the time. The same goes for halo. It just got bloody annoying.

Where the hell is Halo Wars 2?? Halo 5, blah.
drowning in shit's creek. RTS is parasitically bonded to the mouse and keyboard to the point where without them, the game is unplayable at best. Halo Wars is an insult to legitimate companies involved in things like Funiture making, while a total affront to companies like BLizzard Entertainment.
