Steve Blum (i.e. Spike "motherfucking" Speigel and Garcia "fucking" Hotspur, respecively) did the voice for Grunt in Mass Effect 2
And this is why Steve Blum is the third manliest man in existence.
So who would be the other two manliest guys...?
I can guess Chuck Norris... But beyond that, idunno...

OT: I have to admit... DiMaggio as Wakka was totally left field...

It blew my mind in a bad way when I watched a couple seconds of Bob's Burgers and heard Bob's voice. Why does this horribly animated chinless fatass sound just like Archer from one of the best animated shows on television? Damn it H. Jon Benjamin, save your voice for better things!

Billy West voices these four characters in Futurama

He also did both Ren & Stimpy.

---

Also,I think Hank Azaria needs more recognition, he has an amazing range of voices (Snake, Moe, Apu, Chief Wiggum and many others from The Simpsons) and also is a talented actor in real life (Mystery Men, Godzilla and Night at the Museum 2).

---

EDIT: It always gets me that someone as hot at this...

...does the voice of this.

Even though it is obviously the same voice, every time I hear her voice in Family Guy I picture Mila Kunis naked.

Finding out John DiMaggio voiced Wakka just now. W.T.F?! I cringed every time Wakka (or Rikku or Tidus) opened his mouth in FFX. No, I won't believe it. John DiMaggio didn't do that role; he can do no wrong!

Before that, finding out that the voice of the Joker from the 90s Batman Animated series (and Arkham Asylum/City) was Mark Hamil. I reacted thusly: "Mark Hamil? Not the Mark Hamil, right? Not the guy who played Luke Skywalker, just someone with the same name? Same guy? Are you trying to trick me into looking it up on IMDB?" I had to actually see a clip of him doing the voice before I believed it.

He alters his voice so well, and that laugh...my god. Best Joker ever IMO.
Try arguing with people that he's a better Joker then Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger. *Le Sigh*

and Kevin Conroy is the only true voice of Batman to me.

Since it's not entirely clear the second image is the Gravemind from Halo.
Talk about both a diverse and strange range....

Well, the first one that comes to mind that really shocked me was learning the identity of Johnny Young Bosch.

I'd connected him to voices upon voices, curiously wondering who he was. When I watch the credits of one of the old seasons of power rangers just for kicks and there's his name. Right up there. Adam. Former black ranger.

Quite frankly, I was shocked. Going all: That's Johnny Young Bosch?! I had no idea! He's moved up in the world! Squee!!!

Etc. It was further established because it was around the time Devil May Cry 4 was coming out, so I knew he was playing Nero. And then to my surprise he voiced Vash the Stampede from Trigun. I was looking him up like effing clockwork after that.

Two of these for me.
#1: Sergeant Cortez from Timesplitters is the narrator/only credited English VA in little-known (as in I can't find the intro in English on Youtube) Cultures 2.

#2: Luiz from Resident Evil 4 is voiced by the same guy (Rino Romano) who voiced The Batman in the cartoon of the same name. They sound SO different this really surprised me.

Damn right. Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths was hard to watch because Conroy wasn't in it.

As soon as I read the first two lines there, I knew exactly where you were going. Good call man!

This thread also had me thinking about the voice actor revelations that don't blow my mind. There are some voices I instantly recognize, no matter what character they're playing or what medium. Coincidentally, all of them have a kickass voice.

-Jennifer Hale
-Tim Curry
-Ron Perlman
-Keith David
-Tricia Helfer

There are several others, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

I've discussed it with friends. I know it comes down to personal preference, but I can't see how anyone can call Ledger's Joker the best. To me he was pretty forgettable. And totally, totally agree on Kevin Conroy. He was also a good Bruce Wayne - or at least good Bruce Wayne public persona.

I was watching a cousin play Jak 1 today, and when I heard Keira's voice I thought "FUCK, RAINBOW DASH?!" then promptly looked up the VA and it turns out she's Twilight Sparkle. Strange, but okay.

Oh and I like FiM so that just puts the icing on the cake, MORE TARA :D
Yes yes, also Rikku from FF10, and Sari from Transformers Animated.

But that is nothing, and I'm kinda shocked it hasn't been said yet.

Time to end the thread with the One Name to Rule Them All for voice actors.

Frank...

Welker.

He's been dominant in the business longer than your Tara Strongs and Jimmy Yang Boschs have been alive. And he's STILL working his ass off. I mean, hell, Fred? He's the first, and CURRENT voice of Fred in Scooby Doo. That's WAY more important and influential than your John DiMaggios or your Keri Wahlgrens or your Cree Summers or your Venus Terzos or your John Kayes or your Scott McNeils or any other name you can mention that's only been doing notable roles for a decade.

Bring up some Cam Clarke (aka James Flinders) or some Rebecca Forstadts (tho her voice makes me cringe with Lynn Minmei-ism) or some Michael McConnohies or some Amanda Winn-Lee or some Wendee Lee, or some Susan Blu...

Most of the names you guys mentioned are young turks, hardly classics.
