Please tell me it...

Can not be spawned via Monster Spawners
Can not be found underground
Can not build....remember the cities!
Drops something useful
Will not terrorize my residents
Will not peak in my windows and doors

Will it kill and plunder the landscape?

Mr.Cow says moo
Looks at Enderman
DEAD COW!

Hmm

I believe the real question is:
What will we need to do to not encounter this beast?
If we encounter it....How do we slay it!?

That clip... scared the shit out of me.

Anywho, I love this new mod. It's only supposed to be in the new adventure mode, or so I heard, so it should only be in there if you're looking for creepy shit to kill. Besides, the way they act has such a personality about it, something the other mobs don't really have.

And Notch isn't an idiot. He knows that them disassembling your building will ruin the game, he won't let them do that.

Yes please, I can't believe I'm asking for it, but it looks like a fantastic addition to Minecraft. If it works, you will have topped yourself again, Mr. Notch.

Hey, the block moving thing gave me an idea: what if he created a sort of "constructor" mob, some sort of untouchable creatures in the distance physically creating the world as you go along?

They seem cool, so long as they are optional and completely avoidable via Peaceful mode.

Ive spent months working solo on my project. I could only imagine how pissed I would be if I was always having to repair the damage these guys would potentially do.

Outside of that... they do in fact seem like a very cool idea, provided your prepared for them.

So is there anything stopping you from just running up and hitting it with a sword? Or peppering it with arrows?

However, the INSTANT you put your reticle on it, it freezes, turns, and stares at you.

It will continue to stare at you forever, until you look away.

Then it either barrels at you with frightening speed, or, if it's far away enough, it TELEPORTS AT YOU. (No word on if it can teleport up to the balcony your standing on, or if you can piss it off through windows.)
It's 3:30 in the afternoon, heaps of daylight, and I feel creeped out.

That being said, I'm looking forward to it, but I won't be playing Minecraft at night again.

From what I understand, they're much stronger than other mobs. It's also very fast, so hitting it probably makes it go Chun-Li on you. Shooting it makes it teleport into your face before it goes Chun-Li on you.

Also, unless you're too close, you have to take the reticle off of it (above it) to aim your bow accurately...

Oh, screw you, Notch.

SCREW you.

Seriously, bad enough you're hitting my "eyes in the darkness" fear, but now I find out that they stare at you if you look directly at them, they charge you if you turn away, and they TELEPORT?!

Wait... what if you spot them through a window? Do they teleport through walls?

Holy shit. I was just playing Minecraft now, and I still get scared running back to my house, knowing there might be something behind me when it turns dark. I've mentioned this before, but I hate it when I am getting chased by things, I freak out. Especially when you know you can't look back. As I was reading through Notch's blog, it felt like he had reached into my mind, picked out my fear of being chased by things that are very fast and my knowledge of Slenderman, then just put it into a game in which I am already quite tense, just to say a big fuck you straight to my face.

Damn you Notch, and I mean it this time, this new mob is going to be in my nightmares, and it is now going to be incredibly hard to play Minecraft calmly again, without turning it to peaceful.

I'm predicting that I'll be spending a lot more time in the safety of my floating doom fortress after this update... 0.0

So it'll just stare at me as long as I'm staring directly at it? Can I kill it while I'm staring at it? If so, then, wat. Otherwise, OGAWDOGAWDOGAWD

Well this could be amazing and inovating or it could be the root of all evil in the universe depending on how well used it is.

This makes me think of The Ring, which, by the way, gave me nightmares for several days. Those were the last specific nightmares I had in succession. And on top of that, they're fast.

If Notch wants them in, then he should at least let them only spawn in daylight, so as to not have them kick my ass in the pitch-black night. Or he could also change the lighting engine to something that doesn't include severe darkness. Or I could never play on a difficulty besides Peaceful ever again.

One of my friends has been progressively freaking me out with all the stuff he's doing to Minecraft, from blocking people's houses with Lava to hiding TNT in our bases.

But -this- will be what makes me quit Minecraft. My Legos don't scare me this much.

Hell, yes! This is by far my most anticipated update to Minecraft, now. I already play on hard and wish it were more difficult. Plus, I love horror, and simply reading about this new addition is giving me chills (which I'll call a plus). I would suggest an option to turn such creatures off, however, as many other people seem to not be as excited as I am over this.
