It was an odd feeling. Suddenly, Ralph could see and he was back in this odd world yet again but he felt different. He could move but he couldn't feel. He could see but he couldn't speak. He could hear but he couldn't breathe. He moved his limbs only to hear a jingling of bones. Ralph looked down to see his body which had changed to reveal nothing but his skeletal system. He panicked at first, looked around and tried to move. Ralph wanted to scream but he had no vocal chords that allowed him to. He moved his legs but he nearly fell off whatever he was on. Ralph wondered what it was until he heard a hissing sound. The very reason why he couldn't move was because he was on top of a large, frightening spider. The spider hissed when Ralph tried to get off. Then he noticed the bow and arrow in his hands even though he had never touched in his life until now.
Then he spotted a small puddle in an alcove. He wanted to get off the spider to try and see his own reflection out of a grim curiosity. Instead of moving his legs the spider moved for him. There was a connection he had with the spider but he didn't want any part of it. Still they moved forward and soon he looked down to see his reflection to see a skeleton's head looking up from the water. Ralph didn't want to believe it, he just couldn't. He thought back to being back in the make-shift camp, the feeling of his stomach being ripped out, the pain of dying slowly, and then the darkness.
The darkness took him and spit him back out just like this. He wanted to scream, to speak, and even cry but he just couldn't now. All of his human functions have been stripped from him except for his mind but he can feel that slipping as well. His thought process began to degenerate but he fought hard to keep the only thing that was human of him to stay. He looked around in the darkness to see the others like him. They too were either reanimated husks of who they were, large feral beasts, or simply skeletons. They all faced an artificial structure made up of up-turned dirt and grass. It angered him somehow, it made him want to remove it from existence in this natural world. Were the monsters attacking because of that? Was the only reason the monsters existed because of the intrusion of an outside entity that threatened the shape and form of the otherwise perfect world? Ralph should have known.
Like the others around him, he moved forward on his mount. He was silent save for the sounds of his bones hitting and scarping against his bones. His unholy steed also marched forward to his bidding and hissed as they got close. But instead of charging in, the spider jumped and climbed onto a tree letting Ralph have a nice view of the house. He didn't want to hurt them but he felt a strong urge to. He knew they were just trying to survive, to live in this world but in the process they were damaging it. Suddenly he felt his arms pull back the string of the bow and aim for them. He moved, making his arms aim for the doorway and he let loose. It was an odd feeling.
