Alright, I've been waiting to do this. First, Minecraft is a First Person based around exploring, building and what not. Second, multi player will be covered. All right lets do this.
Sound: Its alright, but doesn't have a large enough chunk of greatness to even matter. It has the NES
Graphics: Look at any screenshot, but I guess you can say its like playing an old NES game but as a FP. By the way, not the genre FPS, but the perspective of a FP. I can't really explain minecraft's graphics without saying one thing, everything is or resembles or is made out of a block. HELL, look outside and imagine that everything was shaped in a block form, then you would get a good amount of knowledge about the the games graphics.
Gameplay: I'll split this into the main categories, Building, Adventuring, and Combat below.
Building: Odly simple, but addictive, fun to erect large castles from the simple hut that used to be your house. All blocks are square thus making building anything fun and unique.
Combat: Very lacking. Your more or less just swashing a sword the direction of the local monster until it falls over and dies, not that big o' deal.
Adventuring: Great fun to be had here, but still needs a few tweeks. You go out and explore the block infested world, once dead everything you had on you gets dropped.
Multiplayer: Its also great fun, and addictive. Imagine a bar brawl with Minecraft's combat, building even larger floating doom fortresses and even just exploring with linked maps, its all here to enjoy. Only issue is how you join a server, do you like inputting any Internet addresses? No, then you may not like doing it to join a minecraft server, and more or less, those servers are going to be super restrictive on what you can do.
I recommend minecraft to anyone who has 15 bucks to spend, its fun and pretty well done, weird and awesome, so give it a try.
