It's a wonder anyone hasn't already bought it ... huh.
Well in any case, if beta exceeds my expectations (high probability of that, really) then I wouldn't mind giving the guy a little more of my money, even if I don't need to ^_^

don't worry, my men will soon take care of them.
I will never buy it an nothing you or your men can do will ever make me buy it MWAHAHAHA!

But seriously (not really) I am not the kind of person you want loose in Minecraft anyways. Years of playing shooters, MMO's and other games with combat have turned me into a gaming instrument of death and destruction. My mind would eventually rebel against the alien nature of Minecraft's creative building elements and I would black out and go on griefing sprees where I would try and destroy every creationi I came across. Better I stay away. (/humor off)

But seriously (this time I mean it) I tried it out and it wasn't really my thing. It is a really good game though with some great themes of creation, construction and creativity and people are doing some cool shit with this game.

alright then. *reloads*

To be honest it really isn't my thing as well. I do enjoy playing it, but I don't have that much of an imagination at all and get scared in dark tunnels :p

But for some reason I still like to play it occasionally when I am bored. I guess it's the freedom to do what you want that does it for me...

I got this game awhile ago, i hate pc games, but back when i was trying to give pc gaming a chance i came across minecraft and since then i have very pleased, i still hate all other pc games but this one just blew my mind, it lets your creative juices flowing and the world is so vast you end up doing huge projects and spending hours on hours doing so and in the end you feel accomplished. there is so much to do and it makes it even better because you know the game has alot more content coming its way.

Every bit of terrain that doesn't have light shining on it disappears or become see through,even when they are visible the vast majority of blocks have glitched textures,every sound and track in the game is just static and shadows are red.Or is that not game breaking?

Or is this going to be a case of "I haven't seen that SPECIFIC error, therefore it doesn't exist and you are trolling?"
Sounds like someone has a dodgy Java VM installed...

That's not a problem with Minecraft. Because it runs in Java, and it works fine in Java. That's a problem with Java on your machine.

Well, it's good to see Minecraft continue to evolve. I'm still not buying, if only for the silly reason that there's no way to take out spiders, and spiders only and arachnophobes are still being ridiculed on their forums.
Wouldn't a texture mod fix that? Make it look like something that isn't a spider?

Yes, it probably would and some have apparently managed to make the legs transparent and put the pig texture over the main body, ending up with a pig with glowing eyes that hisses - pretty funny, really. However, I'm not too sure how to replicate that, and the Minecraft community (that's my actual criticism) has proven largely unhelpful, at least when I read a thread by someone else with similar issues.

Well it should be as easy as any other texture pack, just find 1 that got some fix for spiders so they don't look like one, and put that pack in;
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks then just choose it in game(if you haven't played for a while, Notch have added a own tab for texture pack).

2nd Option(faster if you don't know which pack you want and is a bit artistic) is that you go to;
C:\Users\User name\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin and open up minecraft.jar with a compression program(Winrar probably 7zip would work to) and then go to the folder that is named mob in there you got spider.png and spider_eyes.png edit those two until you get something which doesn't set off your phobia.

I'm not very into modding so someone that is feel free to correct me.
