Right, atleast Justin listened to my comments on the last video and did more editing.
However it still isn't good.

Most of the times I had no idea what he was editing to.
At the start I thought that he completely understood what he was editing to, but it was soon obvious that it simply had to do with the length of the footage he was cutting and somewhat convenient cuts within the footage itself.
It quickly (again) became cuts in the middle of sentences and cuts with no relation to what the music was doing.
Sometimes also the editing seems to be done word for word with each cut, and then the next line is an entire scene. It really feels inconsistent.

Also, again people talking in the video with no relation to what was being said in the song, or just talking when there is only music. And several repeated scenes.
And finally, when the song is ending or getting quieter, I would suggest slowly fade to black, or in the case of a song and game like this using the old fashioned technique with reducing the visible area to a dot.

Also, next time, please turn the subtitles off, or resize the screen so that they don't show up.

I do have some complements, good use of fades, it looks much smoother, and I liked what you did with the drums at the start. Atleast the second time the drums come up with the quick white flash, although it would be perfect if it was a white flash with each drumbeat.

Damn, man, I really like when your songs gradually become louder and stronger over their course. That's awesome.

And the song's awesome. In fact, I wanted to insert some RDR-bash in here, but I won't, because the song's that awesome.
<3

Yeah. I love music with dynamics in it. I sacrifice being as loud as most modern music on an Ipod, which is mastered to the highest volume possible - but the payoff is that feeling of building and getting stronger and louder.

Brilliant, my friend. Truly brilliant.
As much as I enjoy the straight-up rockin' numbers, it's the break-out tracks that really stay with me. I remember your review of this excellent game, and it seems time hasn't dulled your passion for it; a worthy tribute to the exploits of John Marston, and most certainly one of your very best songs up to this point.
Thanks dude. I loved the story in RDR despite its flaws, and found John's relationship with his wife to be really well done and natural.

I have to say, Miracle of sound/Gavin, when I first started listening to the songs that were created I wasn't really feeling it. I tend to skew to a bit heavier stuff personally, but then when you did "Fire in your Hole" I liked it a lot even having never played Bulletstorm. Then came Commander Shepard. Then Mind of the Bat. Then Little Sister. All of these songs I loved so much. I went back and started to enjoy the rest of your catalog as well. Redemption Blues is definitely one of the best songs you've made to date and now I always look forward to your next song.

Thanks for the music and keep on rocking!
It's always a good feeling to convert someone who's initially not impressed!

It really reminds me of Santiago's Lament
This. But that's good. SL is a beatiful song and so is this.

You are talented, my good sir. I wish you the best of luck with the future of your music.

While we might need to simply agree to disagree on a few points, I do appreciate the comments. My basic style is to try and inject a story and narrative into my editing rather than solely trying to hit the beats. So where my head was at was the video ebs and flows between John's violent side and travels to time with his family, to waking up in the night to those memories and finally inter-playing between the two lives in the finally duel.

Dear MiracleOfSound,
I have been listening to your music for several months now. I leave Little Sister, Wheatley's Song, and Mind of the Bat in loops as I play games or just sit an relax to your wonderful tunes. I now have to add this one to the list of songs I cannot stop listening to. Please, stop making awesome songs that are stuck in my head all day. I can't get them out D: (Which may or may not be a bad thing.)

Sincerely,
Utrechet

That's true, and I can see that. However you can do that while editing to the music and the lyrics. Injecting a story and editing to the music isn't mutually exclusive.

And I know the comment to my rant would be "Put your money where your mouth is".

So if you want I can make an example for you.
I could redo Age of the Dragon or Commander Shepard and Normandy.
I just have to play through them again and capture and edit.
It would take a while since they are pretty big games and I do have other things to do and want to really do the editing right.

I'm not implying that I want to work as a video editor for the Escapist, but I would like to give you a few examples of what I consider to be good editing.

God damn....

Thank you for reminding me that I traded this game in. Just... damn. Why did I do that? I loved that game! Okay, Mexico wasn't my favourite place to be since everyone there except the lady, whatever her name was, was unlikable, like the horny resistance fighter, but the game was damn good! Why did I trade it in?

Calumon: I wish I was a cowboy. I'd love to walk around in big boots and hat and now one laughing at you. :3

Never said they were, it was more a statement of when push comes to shove I tend to err on presenting a visual interest than being always beholden to the beat.

As for re-edits, well I'm in no position to tell you how to spend your own free time, nor am I making any claims of beings god's gift to editing. So I'm certainly willing to take a look at least.

Never played the game but oddly now I really, really want to.

You rock Gavin! Thank god the Escapist picked up the talent living in its own backyard XD

Hot damn that was beautiful!

The vocals towards the end was just....amazing to listen to, for lack of a better phrase, and this will be another song that I will be listening to over and over again like Normandy.

First off.... I should probably own up to the fact that I'm looking around online for a replic revolver like something John has with a decent gunbelt to go with it... Cos, yep, I started my Halloween costume early.

You've just reminded me why I love that game, the characters and the story so much.

Loved the video's emphasis on the John and Abigail relationship.

One of your very finest, Gavin!
Naturally, I really want to load that game up and stare out across the Rio Bravo, or thunder my horse through the snowy patches of Tall Trees on my way back to Beecher's Hope for some well earned rest...
