I had an idea for an MMOFPS where instead of simply being banned or suspended if you break a rule, you get taken to prison. The prison will be built to hold you, but it's possible to escape, like in real life. If you escape, there will be a bounty and players will try to capture you or kill you. I came up with it because I like the idea of playing around with MMO systems of discipline.

Also, a Fist of the North Star MMO could be good. The style of the world seems more suitable for one than that of other shonen anime. Other anime series could be interesting, depending on how well it's done and how suitable said anime is.

World of Sanctuary

(for those less knowledgeable, that'd be the name for a Diablo MMO to give World of Warcraft a run for it's money)

A slasher movie mmo. You customize your own gaudy teenager and give them a class like "Dumb cheerleader" or "Lovable stoner". You spend your in game time in two different phases. The day phase where you go around and talk to locals, interact with other players, etc, and the night phase where all the npc's lock themselves inside and you have to survive generic movie villains.

You hide in trees, get in cars that don't start until the last second, and die in hilariously overly gory ways. You can defend yourself, but all the villains have 13 million health so all you'll do is distract them long enough for other people to get away. You can find weapons such as wood chippers, screwdrivers, machete's, etc, which are used to stun or slow down your enemies.

If you survive the night, you get experience, which can be used to buy beer, tents, pot, etc. You can also get experience by dieing in incredibly awesome ways. If, say, you just get decapitated you get no experience, but if you get all your limbs chopped off than get pushed face first through a wood chipper you get mondo experience.

If you accumulate enough experience, you can get more powerful weapons like the villains specific themed weapons (as each different monster will have a unique fell to them), mini guns, physic powers etc, witch can kill the villains. If you accumulate enough experience, than you get to design and control your own monster, but eventually you loose control of the monster. If the design is good enough, it will be added to the log of monsters after you loose control of it.

Now the world map will be designed after different cliché. A black and white twilight zone esq
land, a summer camp world, a large foreboding castle, a land of dream. Each will be populated by different classes of monster and the players created monster will be automatically assigned a world to live in.

TL:DR a horror movie mmo.

Old Republic looks like it may be worth 15 a month, if only to go Jedi and carve up all the silly 13 year olds who are planning to roll Sith because it's "dark and edgy".
Yes, that would definately befun (at least for a little while).
I'd want to be a non-aligned Force user (like Jolie Bindo) and carve up everybody.

Anything Cyberpunk. I haven't really figured out why only Fantasy MMORPGs can seem to make it. A hybrid game might be cool as well. Shooter and RPG elements. Hmm. Although I never played it, I'm probably describing Tabula Rasa. Best to ignore me then.

Something with a continueing storyline that players could have an effect upon would be awesome, also a ranking system where you have to obey/command other players could be interesting, and of course if high pitched voices and elite speak were banned

I would play any mmo if it didn't have a subscription fee. Except some anime crap (excluding pokemon.)

Probably said before, just gonna support that person: I want to play a stargate MMO, but it has to be an RPG not one of those bloody card games and I can't pick 'Earth': I have to pick between a slave race(s)/Goa'uld (Factions?)/rebelling faction(s)/wraith/replicators/whatever.

The whole universe seems to be an incredibly interesting concept which is crippled by being shown through the eyes of Earth, which has an incredibly limited viewpoint in comparison. Also once you realise that most shows made by Americans (Even if filmed in Vancouver) treat Terrans in science fiction like they do Americans in regular fiction (Same goes for fantasy) you generally want to get as far away from them as possible and look at the viewpoint of other races, then justify their point of view until the Humans are the bad guys and you don't have to be ashamed of your thinly veiled biggotry.

Or maybe that's just me. Still though, Terrans within the SG universe only really ever explore and fight when they get in trouble, so eventually play would get boring.

Unless you wanted to do an alternate/future world where Terra has devloped a real stake in the Galaxy. That would be acceptable. The more I write the less I think someone came up with this idea before.

EDIT: For once I agree with the majority. When I learned that Bioware (A great Canuck company whose games I've always enjoyed) was going to make a star wars MMO (SWG NEVER HAPPENED) I felt so good I needed to change my pants.

Love the idea of a survival MMO. Preferably an FPS.

Ideally I would like it zombie-themed, but that could get repetitive. Fallout 3-ish would probably work well.

The Old Republic, when it comes out.
When this comes out, there won't even be a puff of dust on the Barrens where I was standing, I will ditch WoW that damn fast. Someone optioned a Firefly MMO, and I think that could be fun. And back to the shameless BioWare fangirling, a Jade Empire MMO would make me squee so hard you could hear it on the moon. I'd play a Mass Effect MMO too, given the opportunity.

The issue here being that you HAVE to be an SG member. Not to mention that the archetpyes I've seen seem for the most part to be rip offs of the character roles played by the main characters.

So while it is an SG MMO, it fell into pretty much every pitfall I feared it would. That being said I'm still applying for the beta and google mapping the houses of my competitors so I can slit their throats.

An MMO set in the Dune universe or based on the Dune series, anything could be possible, and for all of those who don't know what I'm talking about I suggest you head to a book store... now.

Transformers MMO

So much potential for variation. It'd be FPS RPG. You could choose things like what vehicle you'd transform into, from a helicopter to a motorbike to a spoon, if you wanted. Since you're robots, the shape and design of your character and its weapons and such things could be anything you wanted really. It'd be like if there was Armored Core Online, only you can Transform too!

Hey I like that idea too, Armored Core Online...

That's why I said the Djinn granted your wish. A Djinn is like a devil that grants wishes in exchange for your soul and you get screwed regardless.

I woulds play any MMO set in the RIFTS universe. So many factions so much potential, such a badass post apocalyptic world full of magic and badass robots, power armor, vampires, and Atlanteans.

LOL RIFTS = EVERYTHING lol .. so you might as well build it up from a Second Life scripting since you will need everything in the world to make it work, lol. Or

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Done the right way, this could have tons of potential. All the animal combinations you could pick from. And good possible factions are:

Shredder Faction
Disciples of Splinter
Baxter's technological faction..
Krang's Dimension X Expansion

At some point a destroyed technodrome would have to be a major city.
I might play that, but again, a game has to have substance and not just theme. It all depends on who the developer ends up being sadly.
