Is this price change going to effect Europe as well?
Because we're already paying 60 Euros for new games, 65 for some depending on where you buy them.

I'm not going to get it if they up the damn price any further.
yeah but 60 roughly =40 pounds (using the original euro figures)which is what you normally pay in most parts of the globe

OH FUCKING GREAT!

You know how many weekends I'm gonna have to work for that?!

Let alone that the games industry in spain is stupidly overpriced even on retailers?

I am so not playing CoD 4 anymore.

AND YES I AM HAVING A RAGEQUIT BITCHFIT!

In Australia I look at $90 as a fairly good price for games, seeing as most places sell them for $100-$120, but our dollars have different values and I don't know how much the difference actually is.

So what would this cost in Australian dollars?
55 pounds sterling is probably around $150 AUD, but that's only a direct conversion. I don't know if $55 is considered as large amount of money socially as $150 is in Australia.
$150 AUD?!?!? I would never pay that much for a game, that's how much limited edition versions of games cost (like the Black Edition for Assassins Creed 2).

Not enough that the first one has been fullpriced for soon 3 years WITH the game of the year edition, but now they want us to take this shit aswell?

It's just amazing.

to be fair I bought cod4 like 1yr after it came out and compared to most games the price barely gone down. still see it being sold full price even now.

I too won't be buying MW2 on release because I am a poor student but I don't believe its really going to plummet in price after release.

edit: I'm talking PC version too :D

Now I'm sorry I have to be the advocate for big business, but can we really blame a company that pours money into development the like an overexcited waterfall just to make the game as good as possible? Dev teams are armies these days. They're not being greedy, they just want to turn a profit since the price point of the early decade is now far obsolete.

Probably a good time for another visit to the Philippines. Bought a legitimate, day 1(relatively speaking) release of COD4 PC over there for 1500 pesos; roughly $30 US, console games are slightly pricier. Granted, I heard that earning that amount of money over there is a *****.

Yay for more revenue! I do, however, think it will sell less than Modern Warfare as this has been the case for the vast majority of sequels. I will wait for a price drop as I did for the first Modern Warfare and as I did for another famous cash cow from Activision. (Hint: It's definitely not Guitar Hero)

You'll be waiting forever. Even when World at War came out Modern Warfare was still full price for a fair while.

Heh I'm just glad I don't care about Call of Duty. Guess I'll just keep playing Halo 3 online more now I have all the maps (thank you ODST). Or maybe get the cheaper and inevitably better version of CoDMW2, the PC version.

Meh. I can afford it, so I'm not too fussed. Sorry if that sounds like I'm rubbing it in.

Then again, I'm such a rich bastard I'm trying to pre-order the Prestige Edition.
Even if you can afford it, it's people like you that cock things up for the rest of us. If the consumer can't vote with their wallet because there are people who are willing to pay the asking price then most people get shafted.

I've experienced this first-hand as I live in Toronto and Maple Leafs Hockey tickets, which are almost impossible to buy from the box office, go for two to three times face value because people have paid that price before. You're setting a precedent.

Do you want me to apologise for liking shiny things or something?
