Moments that makes you go, "I don't want to be on this planet anymore"

To be honest, I never really have those moments. Sure I have moments where I think "well that's pretty stupid" but never "I don't want to be on this planet anymore". I try not to let any of the news or such things get to me. I also tend to avoid facebook as much as possible. How can I not want to live on this planet when it has such lovely things like nature and animals.

The 40th attempt to repeal the Health Care Act (estimated cost of attempts now estimated at over $50 million) didn't make me want to leave the planet, but it did tempt me to shake some people until their brains rattled in their skulls.

...Excuse me, there's a gentleman from the FBI at my door.
HAHA don't worry the NSA already has everything you've said.

A construction company struck a natural gas line across the street from where I work, and my manager wants ME to go and see if we can re-open the store.

I don't want to blow up or live on this planet anymore.

Is that a real thing? Like, really real?
Embarrassingly, it turns out I mixed up my facts. The fighting Gog and Magog thing to jumpstart Armageddon is real; it's just that George W. Bush said that to French president Jacques Chirac about the Iraq war. Michelle Bachmann (to the surprise of no one) and Rick Perry are the ones who have called to invade because of Revelations, but that was about Iran, not Syria.

Still, though.

I think that a lot of time, but that's more because I suffer from depression than that I'm a genuine misanthrope. On the whole, I try to like people, and people like me more than I give them credit for.

Yes. Life is hard. The world can be stupid. And we can complain about it as much as we want, but if we don't have the necessary power, there's nothing we can do about it. And wishing we were on another planet doesn't do anything because we haven't reached that scientific plateau yet. Or whatever.

I've never seen something and thought "I don't want to be on this planet anymore". I have, however, seen people and things that make me think "I don't want YOU on this planet anymore" which I think is a far better solution.

Meet people that are just doushbags. Always hated how people have defended them with this line. "Might be worthless, at least we can make fun of them." Okay that doesn't really cut for me anymore. Say this, even people that I have hated in the past, I can at least find some good things to say about them. Worked with this guy one time who had no good qualities at all. I kind of sit there and make a check list in my head as to why they even get the right to exist. Nothing I could find for this guy. Eventually thought about just killing him and dumping him in the lake.

1. Hes not funny.
2. Hes not interesting to listen to.
3. He shows up late.
4. He talks crap behind other peoples backs.
5. Hes lazy.
6. Hes terrible with money.
7. People outside of work hate him.
8. His room mates can't stand him.
9. He has no friends, big shocker there.
10. He sabotages other peoples things.
11. He lies all the time, then denies it.

Man does that list just go on and on. Alright so why does he get to exist? Mostly just an empty shell, get rid of him. Of course, all the people like him.

Star Trek, Mass Effect, Farscape, Star Wars, the Hubble space telescope, 2001 a space odyssey, the voyager probes, the Galileo probe, black holes, supermassive black holes, quasars, among a lot of other things. Space is interesting.

Nothing. I like this planet. Sure, there's a lot of shitty stuff going on, but there's a lot of awesome stuff too.

Pretty much every time there's a lopsided debate where one side is being irrationally reactionary and the other is being radically obtuse. For example, the whole Zimmerman/Martin issue, or the outrage that people ooze when issues of guns, race, stand your ground laws are part of the confrontation. Rather than finding solutions or even accepting reason, people would rather just devolve into shouting maniacs until progress grinds to a halt and nothing changes or gets better. I frankly come to hate the species for being nasty just to win, even when they know they're wrong or are just lunatics trying to burn it all for fun (like pretty much every horrible thing the feminist movement loves accusing me of doing by virtue of having a penis).

I refuse to believe the rest of the world's as bad as America, Canada, UK, pretty much most of the westernized countries. Somewhere out there people must believe not all straight men support rape culture because they enjoy looking at women. There has to be people in some reasonable nation that don't hate gay men because they fall in love men, hence being gay (No, really, why the fuck does that piss people off?!). Some magical country must exist where people don't think guns belong in schools or in the hands of everyone to "defend against tyranny".

If these places aren't out there, than yeah, I want off this planet and out of this realm.

When stuff like 50 Shades of Grey still won't leave the bestseller lists. I mean, fuck, if people are gonna read porn then can't they read well-written porn?

Also, when a book someone's reading for pleasure turns out to be bad but they keep reading thinking that maybe it'll improve. Pleasure reading is supposed to be for fun. If a book isn't enjyable then don't read it.

Such an arrogant, idiotic misanthropic saying.

I agree, whenever I see someone say "I don't want to live on this planet any more.", my response is usually to think "Good. Off you go then. I'm sick of your moaning anyway."

It's not that I don't think there are things worth complaining about in this world, but that particular phrase annoys the hell out of me. Just comes across as really sulky and, as you say, arrogant. It's as if they alone are worthy of judging society and it's flaws.

I mean, I'll admit to being something of a misanthrope myself, but I can't stand it when people start acting like civilisation is doomed just because they saw an episode of Honey Boo Boo or something.

Whenever I watch Firefly.... I really want to be on that boat.

I used to be one of those who would declared the statement almost every other day. Now I have gotten over the fact that people are stupid, and instead just wonder with bemusement how said stupid people are still actually on this planet. Because honestly, sometimes, I have no idea how some people have managed to survive.

This post is so simple and elegant, but still caught me utterly off guard. Bravo.

OT: Never.

I've had a few "I don't want living on this planet anymore" moments (mostly involving criminals), but I've never felt the urge to flee.

I was once told i couldn't play league of legends because i am a female and therefore have the brain power of an adult chimp and am only good for reproduction and sandwich making.

I am not exaggerating.

I also kicked their asses, the sexist twits.

Looks like their mothers forgot to smack some sense into those "little boys" and teach them how to respect women. Glad you kicked their asses cause I like seeing justice like that and always prove them wrong. Don't let them ever make you feel small.
