Of course not! If the man's offering you a million dollar's for pulling a trigger, you could be charged as being an assasin! THAT'S what he wants to happen!

No, no, no; I know how this ends. This is like that episode of the '80's Twilight Zone where a couple gets this box and is told that pressing a button on it will give them $1 million but also kill someone. The guy who gives it to them assures the couple that the victim will be no one they know.

Naturally, the button eventually gets pressed, and the next morning, the stranger who gave them the box comes back with the promised million. He also takes back the box. Out of curiosity, the couple asks what'll happen to the box next, and the stranger replies

that it'll be reprogrammed and given to another couple under the same terms. His final words: "I assure you that it will be offered to no one you know."

The guy who wrote Donnie Darko is making this into a feature-length movie, but I don't know how he's going to expand the premise to the 90-minute mark.

No, mainly because I know what I would do which is either put a tiger on the other side or put someone I want killed on the other side. However, depending on how I got there I could say I was being held there against my will and was forced to pull the trigger. Basically, the only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger is the negative consequences directly towards me. I couldn't care less what or who I shot.

Yes, if he says nothing is on the other side in writing, so if I do kill something, I pocket the million and sue his ass

I'd find out why he wanted me to do it and get it in writing that there's nothing there and have him hold the gun so that he can get blamed instead of me and pull the trigger, the amount of good I could do with $1000000 outweighs the bad and knowing me I'd probably hate whoever it was if I got to know them

I think the more important question here is: How in the name of God did you end up in such a room?

And if the room was yours, you'd have to wonder how the man managed to come in, set up and rig a gun without you noticing.

Basically this question is "Would you kill for money?"

I personally don't think this is as illustrative of a personality as people tend to think, as teenagers/immature adults tend to say "Hellz yeah bro I am superhardcore life means nothing to me" regardless of other factors.
no it is not a ''would you kill for money'' question.in the scenario you dont know if there is anybody or anything on the other side of the door.
Ah well, why would anyone offer you a million dollars and go through the trouble of setting up this gun, just to have you shoot at nothing?

As an incredibly materialistic person who views the majority of the human race as livestock the answer is Yes. No I wouldn?t relish killing another person, unless it was someone who I had a particular grudge against but all the same human life isn?t worth a million to me.

1,000,000 can buy an awful lot of vodka.

That's an awful lot of forgetting I can do if I end up killing someone.

I would refuse and leave.

Unless I was told I'd be killed if I didn't pull the trigger, I have the same right as the person who might be through that door to live. I would of course feel rather guilty if I killed a innocent but it was either myself or them and I like me.
Although its a nice sum of money I dont really need it so that wont be much of a factor in my choice.
