[Vision of Division]

If you can't kill those higher level enemies, go into the the house with the knight templar in Seyda Need (the house before you're free) and steal the key on his shelf. Just grab the key, go to your inventory and drop it, wait until he stops you, and pick it back up. That key is the key to the building that is facing it.
There you'll find some armor and lots of items that you can use for alchemy (or sale).

If you tell us your level and where you're at, it might be more helpful.

I've only just turned level 2 and have only done the first 3 quests for the Imperial Legion. I am in Suran now to try to rob the stores, are there any good quests here?

Okay you got a lot of good advice, so I'll leave you with one last thing. In one of the guard towers in Suran, there is an incredibly good Long Blade called the Sword of White Woe. It's under a bunk bed at the very top of the tower. The only thing is, it's very expensive and the guard on the top floor will arrest you if he sees you taking it. Find a way to get rid of him and it's yours. I reccommend using a Command or Demoralize scroll to get him away from the area. If you're feeling brave, you can taunt him into attacking you, or use a Frenzy scroll. Make sure he gets the first hit on you, and then you're free to retaliate. Guards are really, really tough, so use your Adrenaline Rush ability and any other magic items that can help you survive. Or, you could steal one of the lesser weapons lying around, run downstairs, pay the fine, then run upstairs and take the sword before he gets there.
This may sound like a lot of work for just one sword, but seriously, it's really good. If you can't pull off any of those tricks in the first paragraph, the same sword is in Balmora's Eastern Guard Tower and it's a bit easier to get. The sword is on top of a closet on the top floor and if you position yourself right you can get a pillar between you and the guard.

There's Umbra about north-east of Suran. If killed, you get Orcish armor and the Umbra sword, which soultraps any monster it hits. It could make you a lot of money, but Umbra is very tough. I haven't tried it, but after getting Umbra to attack you, you can run to Suran and let the guards handle him. If guards are killed, you get their armor as well.

If you are feeling brave, kill Umbra in Suran. He has an awesome sword. Once you have Umbra Sword, and several empty Grand Soul Gems, go to Caldera, there is a tomb to the east/NE of there that is full of Daedra. Save before you go in, and reload if there is not Daedroths/Winged Twilights/Golden Saints in it. You should be able to soultrap the WT and GS in the grand soul gems, witha value of over 20k.
Also, in Ghostgate, there is a merchant with an almost complete set of glass armor for sale. He also sells glass daggers and longswords. Be sure to have a divine/almisvi intervention scroll. Close the door, kill the merchant, and teleport out. Immediately drop the goods and run. You will then have to take care of the 1000gp fine. Then go back and collect your set of one of the best light armor+weapons in the game!

I have recently bought Morrowind for my 360 after playing Oblivion. I have played for an hour or so and feel very underpowered. I feel like I'm not hitting my opponents half of the time and got seriously owned by Kwama Warriors. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is much appreciated

Ok, here's what I always do:

Go to suran. There are several shops there with some good stuff to steal. When you grab it most of the time the crime won't be reported. In fact, I think the only guy that reports you is the guy with the ebony darts and the glass dagger on his counter. Kill him and loot his store. You'll only have 40 bounty and like 5 ebony darts and the dagger

Did you then go to Dagon Fel and steal the Daedric dagger from the wizard?

I've tried to kill Umbra, but he killed me in two hits...

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the mud crab merchant. There's a mud crab somewhere in the miniature island chain right by Vivec. He buys everything for full price, and has twice the money of the scamp merchant. This makes him the best merchant in the game. In one of my playthroughs, I was actually able to "charm" + "levitate other" him all the way back to my house. Unlimited money ensued.

Also, the Boots of Blinding Speed + Cuirass of the Savior's Hide combo is AMAZING. Tack on a self made constant levitation enchantment and you can fly at three time the speed that you could normally run at max stats. For more overpoweredness, make yourself some constant effect healing items which will mean you can fly at extreme speeds, and no one in the game can hurt you fast enough to take you down, effectively making you superman.

Welcome to a REAL RPG, where you wander into the wrong spots early on....and you will be a spot.

Everyones already said everything I would....though no offense guys, buts what with all the thievery? In the olden days, that wasn't an option in many RPGs, you had to EARN the things you got through blood, sweat, and tears. Its one thing to PLAY a thief, its another to just BE a thief.

Duuuuuudeeee.... get you agility up. Everyone and their mothers will die if they dont use agility as a governing skill... Also, until you are level 20 put the difficulty to about -20. Its a ***** until about 10, then play normal. I'm level 76 and play on hardest! Get every item available to boost your agility to 90+ and you'll destroy everyone. Hell yeah this thread brings me back...

My secret is to specialize in conjuring and long sword. Conjur a long sword and a monster, then kill the monster with your long sword.

Just sit in a basement and do that for several hours.

Oh also, make a kick ass levitate spell and you can go so many places you really shouldn't be able to.
