I have recently bought Morrowind for my 360 after playing Oblivion. I have played for an hour or so and feel very underpowered. I feel like I'm not hitting my opponents half of the time and got seriously owned by Kwama Warriors. Am I doing something wrong? Any help is much appreciated

Morrowind doesn't have any level scaling. Kwama warriors are pretty high level too, it's not suprising. Stick to the early parts of quest lines until you have decent gear and stats.

Yeah, Morrowind is a ***** to start off in, keep at it and level up on lower levels.

Thanks, is the leveling system actually similar to Oblivion's?

Yeah, that's Morrowind right there...

EDIT:
I do love Morrowind, but be prepared to have every aspect of the game trying its best to ram a Fork of Horripilation up your pisser.

That's comforting...
Well thanks for the help anyway, I'll try and get through it

The levelling system is the polar opposite of Oblivions.

Get the PC version instead. If you can't, tell us every detail of your character. Race, birthsign, major and minor skills, inventory, guild memberships. It wil be much easier to help this way. Read this [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind_for_Oblivion_Players] as well. Good luck!

Listen to this guy. that game's a ***** for the unprepared. Just kick mud crabs for a couple of hours, that'll sort you out.

It is so damn hard at first.

Until I 'found' a Deidric Dai-Katana.
For shame, spoon, you mis-spelt Daedric... hand over the keys to the realm!

I can't get the pc version, but I just went for a warrior on my first playthrough.

Ok, here's what I always do:

Go to suran. There are several shops there with some good stuff to steal. When you grab it most of the time the crime won't be reported. In fact, I think the only guy that reports you is the guy with the ebony darts and the glass dagger on his counter. Kill him and loot his store. You'll only have 40 bounty and like 5 ebony darts and the dagger

There is a nifty little short sword in the Fighters Guild at Balmora. It has a very high paralyze enchantment and is easy to get hold of right away. While you are there, grab some easy quests for cash and experience.

Okay, I've got some serious advice for you.

In the Imperial Legion, NEVER EVER ask the Knight of the Imperial Dragon about duels until you've asked him about everything else and he's the only one who can advance you further in rank.

Got some tips for you. One, enchant your silver longsword for Bound Longsword on strike for anywhere between 30 and 45 seconds. You will now have an awesome weapon that you will almost never need to recharge or repair. You could play using only it throughout the whole game and never need to recharge or repair it, and pwn all. And it's really strong.

Secondly, the Dren Plantation is an excellent source of wealth early on in the game. And because they're all drug smugglers you don't have to feel any guilt for killing any of them. In the suspended hut, the guy has a daedric dai-katana. Kill him, take everything in there. Search around the buildings, decide who you want to kill and who you don't. Keep in mind this is difficult, but very rewarding. No one here is crucial to the main storyline, except for Orvas Dren, so don't kill him yet.

Lastly, in the mountains near Suran you will find an Orc in Orcish armor. He wants you to kill him because he's killed everything and he's all emo and bored with life. He's got wicked armor and a badass unique legendary sword.

Also, do you have Game of the Year Edition? If you don't, get it. It's inexpensive and comes with both of the Morrowind expansion packs.

EDIT: Another excellent source of wealth is Assurnabitashpi or something along those lines. It's a Daedric ruin east of Khuul and near the Ushrilaku Ashlander camp. Also near there in a cavern is another Daedric ruin. Come VERY prepared. Prepared for anything. Get looting on the Daedric ruins, and you'll come out a very wealthy man.

Yeah, Morrowind can be hard in the beginning...but in the end it's all about money (that you can spend on trainers, raising your stats) and gear. You have to become strong enough to kill Ordinators (those gold armoured guards in Vivec City). Ohh...and always sell the Ordinator gear to the Scamp trader in Caldera: he buys everything at full price and you can get a maximum of 5k of gold from him every day.

How to kill an Ordinator you say? Well, you should definitely have a good Strength and Agility level...and it is best to paralyze him (spell or enchanted glass dagger) first and then pound away. Or you could levivate (use a potion or enchanted item) your way onto some ridge and bow (Marksman) the sucker to death.

Early on in a game of Morrowind is always a little tricky. One thing I found useful was to have some kind of ranged skill as a major or minor skill (For example Marksman or Destruction if you are playing as a mage class). It gives you a few advantages, such as being able to plink away at an enemy's health before they get close enough to attack you, without missing a hundred times before hitting them for minor damage. Another thing you can do is stand out of range of the attack range of an opponent (like on a pile of crates) and then you can again plink away without fear of damage (unless you're facing a group with an archer).

Another thing, use weapons that you are proficient with. The higher your skill level with a weapon is, the better, as you will be able to hit with more frequency when using weapons you are skilled with (Weapon skill governs chance to hit in Morrowind, rather than the damage dealt as it is in Oblivion).

But stealing is bad :(

don't forget to check that you're using a weapon you're actually good at. I've seen quite a few complaints where people completely forget to check that.

in any case, steal a bunch of weapons and armor, go over to Caldera, go inside the Ghorak manor, find the creeper [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Creeper], sell what he'll accept. The creeper kinda feels like cheating, but he pays full-price for weapons, armor, and some other stuff that I forget. Spend the money on training.

go here for a wiki about Morrowind [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind], it's quite comprehensive, and has starting out hints [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Starting_out].

If you can't kill those higher level enemies, go into the the house with the knight templar in Seyda Need (the house before you're free) and steal the key on his shelf. Just grab the key, go to your inventory and drop it, wait until he stops you, and pick it back up. That key is the key to the building that is facing it.
There you'll find some armor and lots of items that you can use for alchemy (or sale).

If you tell us your level and where you're at, it might be more helpful.
