Most Badass Video Game character

Link. Wind Waker Link. I hear you saying "But he's all cartoony!" Let me explain by listing his acheivements.Sailed on a pirate ship. Snuck into a heavily-gaurded fortress. Sails in a talking boat. Ascended a massive tower that was under the sea. Went inside an ancient undersea kingdom, Killed a giant bird. Killed Krakens and fought a rouge wind god. Went inside an active volcano and a cave shooting out ice. Went inside a ghost pirate ship. Sailed all around the sea getting an ancient power. Fought a maniacal warlock, ending the battle by stabbing him in the face, which turns him to stone. Badass enough?

The guy you play as in Saint's Row 2. He is the ultimate criminal badass..

TF2's Demoman. He uses a wide variety of explosives, He's scottish, and he uses a bigass sword that gets stronger each time he decapitates someone.

Ezio Auditore. His job is murdering people, he's friends with Leonardo DaVinci, and he is one of the first men to ever use a freakin' gun. EVER.

Solid Snake. See previous posts...

I love Zelda and all....but there is nothing badass about him....its just a great game. Compare Duke Nukem to Windwaker Link, and then you will see who the real badass is.

Ok, just to clarify, there is absolutly nothing badass about Gordon Freeman. You can keep trying to find something badass about him, but you won't, because the Master Chief is better. Anyway, my top choice would have to be....

Gordon Freeman has crowbar'd his way through hundreds of aliens, zombies, marines, more advanced aliens, robots, and successfully helped fire two missiles/rockets whatever into the sky. thats more than anyone other character can say.

Well if I am correct, which I am, Master Chief killed even more aliens, blew up two halo rings (about the size of a planet) and escaped from several exploding ones. Master Chief beats him. So does Duke Nukem, and Fawkes, Dante, Commander Shepard, Alex Mercer, hell, TOON LINK beats Gordon Freeman.

This man...This man here, is the most Badass Video game character, He didn't need any fancy Power armors or Genetic super-soldiering or future weapons, he wasn't a God or Demon. He was a man named Bill, he sacrificed himselves for his friends. Veteran. Hero. Leader.

all in all i'll still be a fan of the combination of han solo and ff12's balthier. they are a cyberpunk/steampunk mirror of each other and are fucking badasses til the end

Gordon Freeman is just a face and a name, no characterization at all. You could replace him with a teddy bear or a Japanese love pillow and all would be the same besides what you see in the mirror.

Kratos is bad and is an ass, but he is just a murder machine. Kratos in GoW1 is badass, but the rest of the games he is just an ass who kills things.

Master Chief isn't to spectacular either. Just like his daddy the Doom Guy, he goes into an area and kills ugly looking things. Duke Nukem at least has some catchy dialogue when he goes monster-murdering.

The real biggest badass in gaming is the player. He who guides the character and takes on the multitude of uglies. No matter what shell the player is in, the player is the most badass thing in gaming.

That honestly makes no sense. Halo wins because you play it longer (Multiplayer, Forge, Firefight, AND Campaign)

Half-life just has loading screens and a physics engine (And the gravity gun but then Halo has the gravity hammer)

Just a side note, the question was most badass character, not which game you enjoy more.

OT: I also vote Mr. Freeman. There's nothing better than a man who can kick some serious ass while still being smart enough to recite the quantum chromodynamic gauge invariant lagrangian in his sleep.
