I wouldn't hold it against if you if you said the whole fucking game was annoying. It wasn't awful, it had SOME redeeming characteristics, just some parts were so BROKEN so GOD DAMN ANNOYING....also your Merc quipping "And next I'm coming for Solano!" every time you kill someone got aggravating fast.Rand-m said:I'm gonna go ahead and agree that Mercenaries 2 has the MOST retarded AI ever. If you've played it, you know what I mean.
Yeah, it a shame because the enemy AI was quite intelligent on gears 1. This time around, Epic seem to have gone for quantity over quality. The friendly AI has always been shocking, though.Vrex360 said:For me this would have to go to the otherwise excellent Gears of War 2 in both campain and multiplayer. First off in campain as Yahtzee already mentioned the friendly AI has a frustrating habit to leave you to die. And in multiplayer death matches when you are the only human player and the rest are bots (don't have live at the moment) there is nothing worse than dying and having to watch your AI team struggle to fight while unable to even figure out where the enemy are.
What is the dumbest AI you ever encountered and how did it effect you as a gamer?
I may very well be, and I know Zoey does take the hunting rifle (Francis takes the auto shotgun) but I wanted to use each name and not have them repeat and I have had zoey give me health at 50 on more than one occasion so Francis got the short stick and got to be a moron. Though the fifty health thing really bothers me as it means Zoey all but runs after me screaming "HOLD UP I GOTTA HEAL YA" even though she is in need of it more than me. That and her choice of second tier weapon in certain situations is just horrific a sniper rifle in what is at best close quarters annoys me.YuheJi said:Are you sure you're not talking about people? Because the AI in L4D don't use pipebombs or molotovs, Francis doesn't take the hunting rifle (Zoey does) and none of the AI will shoot the witch unless she is already startled. In fact, they refuse to shoot any zombie that is not already hostile (as in they ignore the zombies that are just vomiting and standing around).
Whoops. Double post.
This reminds me of FO3, in Rivet city, I was caught stealing. So, two men started chasing me, one a guard with a pistol, the other trying to punch me. I ran away, not wishing to kill them, and ended up picking a lock, stealing more things, and when the enemies came in through the door, I said "sod it" and drew a hunting rifle, and kileed them. Then I ran through the door, only for some random guy to walk up and say "God bless you" and walk past. Even more strangely, I killed the guy who tried punching me before he could enter the room, blowing his head off. As a result, his decapitated corpse ended up in the middle of the corridor, completly unnoticed :/Asparagus Brown said:Most things by Bethesda. I wouldn't have it any other way, though. My fondest memory of Oblivion was seeing my friend commit a crime, have the guard captain (and for some reason, a vagabond Nord) chase him half-way across the map, only then to be forgiven for his crimes. Being in the middle of a quest that required the guard captain, however, meant that my friend then had to chase the guard back across the map to speak with him. Once he found him, he tried to speak with him and the captain would just mumble something like "can't you see I'm in the middle of an investigation?" despite being in the middle of the forest. So, after letting the guard captain walk slowly back to the city, he arrived back where he was to begin with, my friend could then present the evidence to the guard, who acted entirely shocked and as if my friend hadn't tried to speak with him hours before.
Then of course there was the time I couldn't complete a quest because, as I came back to report my small victory to the quest-giver, I saw him run out of his house with an axe, following another NPC, who was fleeing, before the guards killed them both. None of this bothered other NPCs, either, of course, who just walked past the bodies.
Ah, good times, good times.
