CoD WaW, it was just terrible
KoToR 2, same thing
Halo 2 and 3, I'm gonna get flamed so I'll just say that the first was the best and the others were just pieces of crap that were put in a box and sold for $60 each.

F.E.A.R. 2... What happened to the scariness? I don't really regret buying it, but it was still a disappointment... I think I actually liked Perseus more...

Empire Earth 2. It looks ugly from an Empire Earth point of view, and it adds so many completely pointless and inane game mechanics. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if it were called Rise of Nations 2 I'd be more positive about the game, because that's what it IS. It has nothing, however, to do with Empire Earth.

Ground Control 2. The first was awesome. The second..... not.

Master of Orion III. I don't actually have any hands-on experience with it (shame on me), but everyone I've ever heard about MoOIII said it was buggy and broken out the wazoo, and when everyone says that, it's reasonable to assume it's true.

If I say any game, Id have to agree with Devil May cry 2, as mentioned above

But it's expected for sequels to be terrible, the thing that makes me angry is when the original is terrible and the sequel is really good and you have to play through the horrible original to understand the awesome sequel.

CoD 3, Metroid 3,LoZPH, Splinter Cell CT and Worms 3D...IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE WENT 3D D:
All games with the suffix "3D", with the exception of Duke Nukem 3D, are all terrible.

I however must object to Splinter CT. That's my favourite of all the Splinter Cell games.

Spiderman 3

Spiderman 2 blew my mind. A movie tie in game that was bearable to play? Madness! But then the third one...happened...and it was never the same.

I'll have to say S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky. Not a bad game, but so extremely buggy I could never make it past about an hour and a half into the game.

R6: Vegas 2.

I've played every R6 game since the first, and loved the tactical side of things, especially in mp. Vegas 2 and its spawning enemies pretty much negates the use of any tactics other than "throw grenade, hide behind wall, shoot". Sucks.

To those who think GTA 4 is a good sequel...Did you not think once that those "make everyone happy by taking them out after every mission" are annoying and needless? It felt like I was playing a Sims game.
i havent played in a little while but i dont remember those being nesessary plus i found the story in gta 4 kept itself together better than its predessors

WarCraft III. While a great game, and far better than WarCraft II, but as a spiritual successor to the RTS-God that is StarCraft it was rather thoroughly disappointing.

Deus Ex 2 was the biggest turd of a game to rely on its predecessor for sales.
Agreed. I was trying to search my brain for a sequel I hated, and somehow this one wasn't coming to mind. I guess I've blanked it out...

X-Com: Interceptor was also a rather disappointing send off for the series.

Doom 3 was pretty bad as well, though I'm not sure it counts as a sequel since it doesn't follow off the storyline of the previous games. It's more like a remake.

Actually, I enjoyed MOO3 a lot. It has some annoying things in it initially, but the datapatch pretty much fixes all that. The only real problem with the game is that it is a bit on the slow side, so it takes some patience (or sticking to the absolute smallest map size). The degree of micromanaging you can do is pretty extensive (though helpful AIs can control most of it half-way competently) and the sheer number of planets is insane in larger galaxies. Unlike the previous versions of the series, it is VERY easy to get research done and still build armadas of ships while simultaneously building up the economy. Unlike the previous MOO's, though, it is almost always preferable to let the compy handle tactical combat or just auto-resolve.

Tales Of symphonia Dawn of the New world... awful just awful
*cries* Why god why? it had so much potential! It had a concept I'd never seen done, ya the combat was improved in some ways, but the addition of the stupid monsters canceled that out, but the story up till 3 quarters through was so unique, why did you have to turn it into a bad fan service game!?

Myst V.
Puzzles? Story? Characters? screw that, we have some crappy new WASD controls for you instead. Have fun getting stuck in the world geometry!
