Tales Of symphonia Dawn of the New world... awful just awful
*cries* Why god why? it had so much potential! It had a concept I'd never seen done, ya the combat was improved in some ways, but the addition of the stupid monsters canceled that out, but the story up till 3 quarters through was so unique, why did you have to turn it into a bad fan service game!?
Ironically it pissed the fans off as well XD
I know, if your going to make a fan service game you might as well let me play as Lloyd. One of my favorite parts of ToS was the number of play-styles, now you only get two, and one sucks as bad as Collete. Why the hell would I want to play as a version of Raine with Collete's style of fighting?
And Emil had to be one of the worst main characters in any game. Oh god he was such a whiney little fucktard, totally ruined the game for me
I was actually fond of Emil under a certain set of circumstances. First off, he couldn't be in Ratatosk mode, then he was a prick, and secondly he had to be around Marta, because then the characters worked together in a Chris Farley David Spade kinda way. And with Emil being David, he sucked without Chris.

Fable 2 i just couldn't find the joy or fun i found so much of in Fable.
It didn't have the same charm, or maybe it was the fact that it just wasn't fun anymore. I still play fable:tlc, but I won't be touching fable 2 for a long time.

I wasn't aware that inFamous was a sequel.

Was it?
Nope, unless this man meant a spiritual sequel to the sly cooper series...but it wasn't even that. So like you, I have no idea what he refers to.

CoD W@W (Sequel or not, it sucked.)
Halo 3 (Not 2, 3.)
RE 5
GTA 4
SSX On Tour (SSX 3 was the best.)
CoD 3 (Almost forgot you again Treyarch.)
I thought SSX Tricky was the best in the series but SSX 3 was right up there with it

Call of Duty 3. Was naive enough to think that a different developer wouldn't matter. Still haven't been able to forgive Treyarch for the piece of crap.
Clearly you never played the awesome multiplayer.

Tales of symphonia 2. The original had, in my opinion, an excellent story line, memorable characaters with extensive developpement, decent voice acting(for the most part), world maps, twists and turns, and almost everybody could relate to at least one of the characters in the game, but the ending left us with such a cliffhanger we wanted a sequal. The sequal was basicly a profit making cameo. They tried to incorperate all the old characters, but since they weren't nessisary to play with they felt like throw away dolls. All the characters you used to know and love, didn't know the same attacks, would not level with the new character, altered their voices and made them seem like aliens. They even tool the cliff hanger ending and tried use it in the game but failed. I will not use any spoilers because the first game was so good, but I highly suggest you don't pick up the sequal unless if you are a collector of the series, you like marketing scams, or you want to see how badly butchured your heroes can become. ugg.

I may be one of the handful of people on Earth who thought Halo 2 was a MUCH better online shooter than Halo 3. Once they ruined the Halo 2 BR, the game just wasn't the same.
Not strictly true. Halo 2 still has a healthy online community on Xbox Live, even almost 5 years after release.

yeah if a game needs to make up for its single player in the multiplayler zone theres gunna be a problem

What was wrong with GTA4 was that I wanted to play a video game where I went on missions for the mafia, stole cars and the such - i did NOT want to play some weird straight and/or gay dating sim where I constantly had to take people out so they'd like me.
Yeah. This. It's totally different from the previous titles, in that you have to devote so much time to playing minigames with your NPC buddies just to stay friends with them, and recieve whatever benefits they can provide you with. No, it's not enough to do their quests and some "rep grinding" to get to 100%. You have to keep grinding to stay there! When you've got like 10 people to maintain relationships with, that indeed does make the game seem like less of a fun, light-hearted, satirical, sandbox "crime simulator" (to quote the soccer moms -- I love how they point out the good games to all the kids!), and more like a dating sim, like goodchild said.

Most disappointing, though? Mercenaries 2. First one was soooooooooo fun, second one was sooooooo broken.
Yeah, that's another shitty sequel. I didn't have as high expectations for it as I did for GTAIV, though.

Sims 2.

Though I'd hate to mention the Sims series, considering the HATE ZP kicked up.

They are mostly women, though, to be fair.

I'm surprised with some of the responses here- Halo 2 or 3, GTA IV, Fable II? I thought they were all great.
Biggest letdowns in a series: Treyarch made Call of Duty Games. Infinity Ward takes us up, and Treyarch takes us back down. Biggest letdown in a series made by one developer: GTA: Vice City Stories. It wasn't awful, but it was a step down from Liberty City Stories.

Devil May Cry 2 (the redheaded stepchild of the redheaded stepchild of the series)

Ninja Gaiden II: I liked it, but much of it was hair-pulling-ly frustrating. The first Ninja Gaiden was pretty damn fair. When you died, it was more than likely your incompetence that made it happen. Ninja Gaiden II? Not so much. That game was bullshit-ier than the cattle farm I live next to.

I have to mention an oldie:

A-10 Cuba.

A flying simulator based on the A-10 Warthog plane, with mission of destroying ground targets in SAM and AAA rich environments and enemy planes. Of course you're not going in alone, you have wingmen (whose flight-plan you can desing yourself), allied planes, your own fighter patrols etc.

It was pure sh*t. The graphics were the same, the game was slower, the screen felt at times cluttered and mission were either no-brainers or clear suicides. And the flying... Sure, an A-10 can make a 180 degree turn in less than 30ft above ground in full bomb load without losing any altitude and avoiding fricking trees....

NO, that's not how an A-10 flies. That's not even how the worlds most agile fighter flies.

So yeah, flight realism... Not there.

In comparison, it's predecessor A-10 Attack! was either as good or better in all regards. At least there mission made a bit sense and any mission could be beaten by a proper load-out. As it should be. And in full load-out you felt like you were in the cockpit of a brick and if you at any time engageg an enemy fighter you could scrap the mission right then and there: no way you could outmaneuvere your enemy. and when going less than 150 ft above ground, the slightest mistake made you crash and burn.

well, the Destroy All Humans! series has just gotten worse and worse....
the first one was awesome but i have Path Of The Furon and i got all my data erased because of some collision bug
The gameplay and story sucked too, though
