Beating CoD4 on Veteran. Even if you use the right tactics in every mission, a lot of it seems to come down to luck. Like, in the TV station, I had to replay that so many times because my stupid squad mates would walk into the closet with me, so I couldn't shoot out, and that meant every enemy in there would throw grenades into the closet with me. And I don't even want to talk about how many times a stupid marine would suddenly stand up in my line of fire and force me to restart because of friendly fire.

That certainly isn't the hardest level, but it shows just how frustrating that game gets. The beginning of Shock & Awe was also annoying, because they could shoot you long before you could aim your guns at the anti-aircraft positions, but I think I was just playing through that level on Veteran way too early.

I'm now going to say the Vidmaster: Classic achievement on Halo 3 ODST.
Because no matter how many time I do levels on Legendary, without Shooting OR using Grenades, it won't give it to me or some of my other friends.
and yes, we do the levels on Solo. so we should get it.
Damn You Bungiiiieeee!

This brings back memories of when I was trying to get the "Mile High Club" achievement from Call of Duty 4. This is one the the most annoying achievements I've ever gotten that comes to mind. I hated the mission and achievement a hell of alot, but felt compelled to get it, through some strange sense of incompletion of the game. Which achievement/trophy/game level was it for you?

P.S Please don't message me telling me how sad and crap I am because you got the achievement first time. I highly doubt that you did, and it's not the point of this post.
Getting the platinum Achievement in Sonic Unleashed. That is Insanely hard. And having to play through the night levels is not fun.

(bioshock) well the brass balls achievement is infuriatingly difficult. Get through the entire game without dieing once your kidding right. I found it hard trying to stay alive on normal difficulty.
the seriously 2.0 achievement is a bugger to complete. 1,000,000 kills is an insanly large amount of kills to get on gears of war 2
I have good news (or bad?), if you turn off Vita chambers and save a lot it's actually a breeze.

Edit: and oppp7's advice works wonders to.
I didnt know you could turn off the vita chambers ill remember that next time i'm on that game thanks for the advice :D
How do you turn them off? There isnt an option on the options menu so im just reloading every-time I die.

Oh yeah my choice is Bulletwitch's "Complete on CHAOS difficulty" which is like very hard mode and only gives you 1G.
