Any and every game that tells you how to walk. Holy sh-t game, I'm sure we can figure *that* one out for ourselves!

Oh that annoyed me to no end.

Its ment as a joke though really. But at first your like "oh for crying out loud". I think your actually ment to use the Sixaxis but Im not sure.

Another one that deserves mention. When your being shot at it in a game and your screen goes red and it says "Get to cover to recooperate" WELL I NEVER. You know for a second I actually thought if I stood in front of the bullets some more my character might build up some sort of resistance but it seems I havent.

Anyone remember Koudelka? The developers went on to create the Shadowhearts series.

Koudelka was an early PS1 game, one of the first console - based adventure games with relatively realistic graphics. So, it was no longer necessary for the producers to explain what the various things on the screen were, as players could now see it for themselves.

The Koudelka producers had failed to take this into consideration.

I'm exploring a room, I see a cupboard, and decide to take a look inside. I'm low on healing items, and figure there might be some inside. I examine the cupboard, and get a close - up of its door, accompanied by the following message:

"You see a cupboard."

OK. Fine. I quickly click the message away, eager to get at the goodies. It is instantly replaced with a new message:

"Do you want to open the cupboard? Yes/No"

Getting annoyed, I hit "Yes", and am treated to a close - up of the cupboard's contents. Which turns out to be A MUMMIFIED CORPSE WEARING A WEDDING DRESS! Keep in mind that I was expecting to find goodies or some sort of quest item - I nearly have a heart attack!

I vaguely notice that another message has appeared, and spend the next minute or so trying to calm myself down enough to focus on it.

Eventually I succeed, and read the message. It says:

"Inside the cupboard is a mummified corpse wearing a wedding dress."

DUH!

The sheer uselessness and idiocy of the message pisses me off bigtime, and I quickly click it away, eager to be done with the whole idiotic business and move on. Immediately, ANOTHER message pops up:

"The corpse suddenly attacks."

Yeah. I was actually getting mad at the damn GAME at this point: "Sorry, bud, no health for you, here's a boss fight!" Hooray.

(To be fair, defeating the corpse DID get me a quest item!)
Yeah I remember playing that game it was awesome, think I still have it around somewhere

It is? No wonder I got in trouble with the guards all the time.

Sorry, had to.

There is a lot of players that isn't that 'hardcore' and they might not know what DoT is.

Press X to jump or use the left analog stick and the right one to move the camera this has become so standard in all games it is pointless to put it in anymore really.

I love to laugh at all the unhelpful tips that a game offers you. My favourite has to be from Army of Two: "You can die in combat"

So, what's the most laughably obvious thing a game has ever told you?

i hate it when the game buttons are labeled "JUMP button, SHOOT button" etc and you get a truckload of hints concerning "press the button to " I still have to look up the controls because i don't write "JUMP" on my gamepad -.-

"You were killed by an exploding car. CARS ON FIRE ARE LIKELY TO EXPLODE." NO REALLY? It's even stupider than the grenade one.
...I actually was surprised when I first got killed by an exploding car (because the car was behind me and didn't see it on fire).

So yeah, there is always someone more stupid somewhere in the world (and that someone is me) :-D
