Fire Emblem. Instead of having one quick tutorial, the entire first story (TEN CHAPTERS) was one long "Learn the Basics" guide. An entire level would be devoted to "rain slows you down". Not always incredibly obvious tips, but just as ridiculous, since they managed to spread the whole damn thing over ten chapters.

Really? I assumed if I caught the grenade's shrapnel with my face I could use it to create ultra-deadly headbutts.
