Oh come on, the Great Destroyer from Borderlands trumps all other examples.

I started with melee powerhouse, but have turned into a lightweight heavy hitter with some ranged attacks to be balanced.imahobbit4062 said:I never even though of that...I would've been happy with just Mic support. But a while co-op storyline would be even better. Especially since you can have quite diverse parties (I mainly use a Longsword, Bow and a bit of magic, while my friend would run around with fucking huge weapons to rape demons with)
I don't want it to rely on having a very diverse party, but some advantages of having one would be good.
Actually, im pretty sure its established that Anakin lost a lot of his power when he was reborn as Darth Vader, by that point he was scarred beyond recognition, had lost pretty much every limb, and his life support system was heavy as shit, sure he was a match for most Jedi, but he was really just a ghost of his former powerapsham said:Thinking about Vader now - his lack of any amazing power really makes sense I suppose when you look at the canon Expanded Universe that games and other media has given us. Starkiller for instance, was used by Vader to try and overthrow the Emperor.. anything that you see of Anakin Skywalker after his transformation isn't really all that impressive, as if the rebuilding of his body only served to repurpose the mind and will of the imposing figure that would become Darth Vader.Dark Knifer said:But being hyped up for three movies straight as 'the chosen one' I'd expect him to throw planets with his mind. Instead, Vader is more of the emperor's lap dog even being told what to do by mere imperial officers in the first one (see grand Moff Tarkin). I'd would expect more from someone like that, even if he did look badass.theComposer said:Not that big of a player? He's Luke's father! He and Luke have two epic lightsaber duels! He restores balance to the Force, defeats the Emperor, and saves Luke's life in one swift act of heroism! How is that over-hyped?Dark Knifer said:Technically not a game one, but this is all I could think of.
Darth Vader (the movie one). They spent 3 full movies showing his back story and motivation, calling him 'The chosen one' etc, but in the original trilogy he wasn't that big of a player... That's as close as I can get to an overly-hyped enemy at the moment.
He's feared throughout the movies because his powers are highly above those of a regular human - but I suppose a lack of any real enemy made his abilites decay over time.
The aiming for the bows is kinda weird. They don't ever hit the middle of your crosshairs, it is always to the left or right of the center depending on distance. That and teh arrows are really slow. They are still awesome vs AI, but worthless against other players.imahobbit4062 said:I quite like the Archery in the game. Especially since I've saved my friend many times with a well placed shot.
Cannot wait for Hunted The Demon's Forge. It looks to be a fucking epic RPG.
One of the most inhuman monsters of Batman lore, and you have to play a game of Simon with him...Nanissimov said:#1 Killer Crok (Batman Arkham Asylum) (seriously how do you spell it)
Normal super mutants scare me more than any behemoth. At least those come in numbers and with miniguns. And those centaur things are fucking horrifying.Nanissimov said:#2 Super Mutant Behemoth's (Fallout 3) Not very diffuclt enemies, the only problem i could see them posing is if you stumbled into one at a low level, but i had no problem with them. Also i killed them all without the fatman!![]()
That's on normal. On expert it can be quite a lot tougher. Obviously, if you only play versus it'd figure you'd think that of him. Truth be told, it ought to be an advanced tank in a game of versus, to give him a little health boost.TheYellowCellPhone said:Tanks from Left 4 Dead.
Here's how it goes.
-Tank spawns
-Finds Survivors
-Gets Molotov'd and/or 'naded
-Has at least two shotguns and an assualt rifle shooting it
-Dies a few seconds later
You were honestly expecting to go toe-to-toe with a daedric prince? And not just any daedric prince but the prince of destruction and ambition? What exactly were you hoping to do? Even as a maxed out mage you can't even step to Sheogorath, the sad tosser of the Shivering Isles, without being hurled to a gruesome death. Dagon, even if he were bound by some rules of Nirn as opposed to his omnipotence of the Deadlands, it would still go to reason that he coulddemoman_chaos said:Dagon from Oblivion was kinda lame. Just a horde of bad guys and his tall arse. You don't even fight him. You just escort Martin into the temple and watch a cutscene.
I was expecting something other than walking between his legs while he stands there looking menacingly.Jarl said:You were honestly expecting to go toe-to-toe with a daedric prince? a) stomp on your ass
b) magicka your ass to space dust
c) punch/slice/chop/crush/violently penetrate your ass
He's the lord of fire and earthquakes, man!
(For comparison, he's level 100 with 1k hp, 1k magicka and a 100dmg melee attack. Oh, and 100% immunity to paralysis and fire.)
This, this, a million times this. I wanted a God of War style epic showdown, not some boring "sneaking" scene. Rocksteady, I am disappoint.Nanissimov said:I was playing Batman Arkham Asylum yesterday and i got to the point where you fight killer crok (Did i spell that right) and that was such a big disappointed (Like my first sexual encounter.) All it amounted to was swatting him down (as mentioned in zp) so i got to thinking about some over hyped enemies.
#1 Killer Crok (Batman Arkham Asylum) (seriously how do you spell it)
Maybe you were playing a different game, one where the rail rifle didn't suck.Nanissimov said:Yeah the dart gun as well as the rail rifle broke the game early on, aswell as later on the Terrible Shotgun, Xulong Assault rifle, & Lincolns repeater made me Jesus with more flexible ethics. But when you learned to use power armor the game might as well have called it quits because anything that posed a threat to me prior to that point was diminished (Along with my sneak skill.)LifeCharacter said:Deathclaws from Fallout 3, it might be a cheap way to play the game but the dart gun made it an easy game of making sure you didn't back into anything bad.
