Metal Gear Solid.

People can say whatever they want about Halo and whatever, but that doesn't matter because Halo is over-rated. The difference is that everyone calls Halo out on that fact and no one will claim that MGS is anything other than great.

It is not that good. It's ok at best. It isn't the wonderfully amazing series that everyone believes it is.

Use the search bar. I've seen tons of these threads.
OT: Fable series, and Resident Evil 5. Both are good, but they weren't as good as everyone expected.
Fable one was a great, original action RPG experience. Fable II was exactly the same great slightly less original action RPG experiece mixed with living out your everyday life through a game (especially since you could only get cash from working) like.. wtf!?
For me the most overrated game would easily be Oblivion. I have no idea why it received such rave reviews. It was a first person, generic RPG, the battle system was far from dynamic and new. The spells, story, gameplay, and overall feel just felt to me like "been here, done that". Now I want "next".
This is hilarious, you say Fable 2 is a better RPG than Oblivion?
You expect people to take you seriously...I mean...really?
You're an idiot...
I said Fable was a great rpg experience, I then said that Fable II changed nothing besides adding a dog and letting you "live your everyday life".
You said Fable was great, and Oblivion was generic, thats still saying fable is better than Oblivion.
I finished both 100%. The difference is Fable didn't feel like a chore to me.
And Oblivion was generic. I'm so sick of everybody painting that game as though it's the holy grail of RPG's.
God knows why it got 9.0 on gamespot and on everywhere else.
It was clunky, annoying, generic as fuck. The only "Innovative" aspect of the game was it being first person and oh no.. looks like Dark Messiah already did that ten times better.
The battle system for Oblivion made me want to hang myself.
I don't even know why I finished the game completely. Bragging rights I guess? Maybe so I could justify to people like you why there are far better games than Oblvion will ever be.
Is this statement going to start a flamewar? Most likely, but I'm really at the point where I can't give a shit. Oblivion was mediocre, deal with it.
And that voice acting... Dear god.

Nothing is overrated, people just have different opinions of things.

This subject has been done to death and each time it is equally retarded.

Who said portal? Let me start by saying "fick dich" and that portal is awesome and deserves all the hype. If u know a better puzzle game, name it. Half-life 1 was a bit overrated but half-life 2 was the best shooter ever played by me. Yes I'm a fanboy. Now for some overrated games; counter strike, gears of war, halo, call of duty 4, resident evil, goldeneye 007 (I still like it), any star wars game, myst 5 (rest were awesome), motorstorm, metal gear, doom 1,2, and 3, duke nukem 3d, super mario galaxy, metroid series, sonic games, mirrors edge and EVERY RPG and STRATEGY GAME!

Dead Rising, Portal, Half-Life, Far Cry, God of War, Fable, TES, Original Fallouts, and more.
Got to love it when people post the most popular games, and dont even give a fucking reason behind it.-snip-
Halfway through you already proved what an idiot you are.[/quote]
I don't give a shit whether you liked Dark Messiah or not.
The battle system was a thousand times more immersive and dynamic than Oblivion ever will be.

No More Heroes: never have I seen a more tedious and boring minigame vessel get such rave reviews. The tutorial level is fun but after that it goes downhill fast. Is that what most critics do? Just play the tutorial?
Really, if something like that showed up on the ps3 or 360, it would've been laughed into the shovelware bin.
