Most pointless warning label

The best one I've ever seen was on a box of toothpicks. "CAUTION: Not for use in eye". How in the world they found out that we need to be warned against putting toothpicks in our EYES I'll never know. I mean honestly...you're going to jab that sharp little wooden prong directly into your eye, you're also going to give up your right to sue the manufacturer, stupid!

I hate those "Baby on board" signs you get on cars. I mean how many people were going to ram them off the road untill they saw that sign and went "oh no better not"?
Those signs are more for the emergency services than other motorists, a small child in a mangled car might be missed in an initial search. This lets them know to look in small places (i.e. footwells) for other crash victims.

one of my favorites is on some films - "contains scenes of mild peril".
and on the bottom of a microwave meal "caution- do not turn upside down"

It's a corporate world we live in, children. It isn't pointless if it keeps even one person from filing a lawsuit.

Nothing goes without saying anymore. And even when something does, people feel compelled to state obvious fact anyway. Deal with it.
Since when did the smart people have to cater to the stupid ones? Why is it that we live in a world where we have to stay with the slowest, and not the middle? (If I say top, I'd be dead)
Why don't the smart have better things to do than worry about silly "pointless" warning labels on products?

Some are just stupid, others are just asshats. There are plenty of... how to describe them... Air steelers, that like to file frivilous lawsuits for a living. Many companies will just settle and they know it. I work for a food company. We have a product with peanuts in it. It is called "Peanut blah blah" but it also says on the back "May contain peanuts". The lawyers make us do it to cover our ass. It is stupid, but our whole country is made up of stupid people. Like the guy who called 911 because Subway made his sandwitch wrong. If you are one of these people, please have yourself nutered, get out of the breeding pool, do us all a favor.

That sounds like whoever wrote the warning was making exactly the kind of joke I'd make ^^

The whole lawsuit thing is brilliant, though; these people are basically being paid to be stupid, and the best part is that the world knows it. How many of these cases stay unknown? The world hears about them, and Mr. Joe Idiot is ridiculed the world over because he's a money-grabbing douche. I don't know about you, but worldwide hatred isn't worth £20,000.

Half the problem is the fact that there are lawyers who want to take these cases and see no problem with it.

Did you know that there was an American man who bought a lawn mower, and while he was using it, had a heart attack in his backyard. He later sued the hardware store, on the basis that they didn't warn him that he was too fat to be mowing lawns.
Thing is, if they said that, he would sue for discrimination.

Anyway, he won. WTF happened there?

There was another time when a (American, again...) woman was driving, but then switched on cruise control, got a magazine and sat in the back seat, reading it.
After the inevitable crash, she sued the car company for not warning her that Cruise Control did not drive your car for you.

She won...
Welcome to America, where if it can be dreamed up while on drugs, it can and most likely will happen at least once.

A Dodge Viper SRT/10 has this warning label on the door sils:

Do not place child seats or infant carriers on the rear seats. Do not place luggage on the rear seats, ensure any passengers use their seatbelts.

A Dodge Viper has no rear seats, only a bulkhead between the front seats and the boot.

lawsuits have fucked america up.
Like when that burglar cut himself on a knife in a house he was robbing and then sued and won.
God Bless America

We should stop putting warning labels on things that are redicliously obvious, with the hope that anyone stupid enough to get themselves killed or badly injred by it will never had or have children; thus clensing the gene pool (hopefully) of anyone like them ever being born again...

Picture from a chainsaw manual. We used to print these where I work...

Sometimes I think we need a worldwide law against stupidity, but then I guess broadband prices would skyrocket due to lack of demand.

In my experience most of these stupid labels are from the USA
and we must remember that the americans consist of about 3% of the worlds population
but the USA has 75% of the world lawyers.

No wonder they need warning labels.

Sadly (yet also hilariously), that one is neither as daft or unnescaessary as you would like to think.
