Most pointlessly expensive thing you've bought recently?

I bought the limited edition version of AC:Brotherhood. AC2 was my second-favourite game (and it still is) but I didn't buy any special versions of it. So instead of re-purchasing the same game, I just waited until Brotherhood. "Besides," I thought, "it's going to be awesome!"

So $120 and a couple of days later, I ended up shutting the game off out of frustration, thinking to myself "why the f*ck did I pay like twice the money for the game when all it really came with was an art book and a jack-in-the-box?".

Hmm, I've not bought much recently. I suppose the only thing that falls into the category is a £60 (roughly $100) pair of shoes I got a month or so ago.

I bought a new gaming pc one month ago. But it was dead on arrival and now a month later I am still without a working pc. So I guess until the repaired computer arrives I spend a ton of money on something quite useless!

I'm going to go buy a big-ass Nerf gun tomorrow for a giant Humans vs Zombies game that'll only last 4 days. Then I'll put it up for 6 months and have no need for it. Fun times.
I buy Nerf guns all the time. They are never a watse of money.

Only expensive thing I've bought recently was a jacket, which some are happy to go without but for me is a very practical addition to my wardrobe. It was £120, but then its predecessor had been around half a decade, and this one is equally well-made.

Captcha says "WURZEL lols." Curious.

$57 on pizza and only half of it ever got eaten. It haunts me to this day.
Wow, was the pizza made out of solid gold or something?

OT: Probably Golden sun: Dark dawn for the Nintendo DS. I bought it for £15 so I guess it isn't too expensive and it is a good game, but I am busy at the moment so I don't really have time for it, which is why I am holding out on buying Pokemon: white and black.

Mac Pro 15 inch Quad-Core
1500 Euro

Cubase 6
450 Euro

Sennheiser HD 800 headphone
800 Euro

A LP player and a ton of LP's at a new local store
about 350 Euro

A new bigger more comfy couch
200 Euro

A new beamer for close projections in very high clarity and resolution for both gaming and working
1700 Euro

Adds up to about 5000 Euro and that translates to roughly 7000 USD.
Really the only reason that stuff is so expensive is because they can get away with it.
Also I'd like to add that I really needed most of that stuff and at least the beamer and Mac with Cubase will pay them self back in the long run, because I use both extensively at work

Spent £55 on a replica of Hermione's "time-turned" thing from the 3rd Harry Potter movie. to be fair, I did buy it FOR somebody else, so it's not totally retarded. still...£55...
I believe that object was hilariously derided in some Cracked article or other.
Yeah it's a pretty pointless thing to own or buy. But he loved it, so I consider it money sort of well spent.

AN XBOX 360!
Actually, this.

No, seriously. I owned a PS3 and a 360, and my 360 Red Ringed. I bought a brand new 360, and I never even put a game in it. Had all the games I wanted on the PS3, and now I have a gaming PC which can beat the both of them on every level tenfold.
PS3 is now in the lounge for my flatmates and I just gave the 360 to my little brother. Could have used the £200 though.

Uhm, largest recent purchase was $100 worth of Remington Core-Lokt 165 grain .30-06.

Largest single purchase however (The ammo was over a couple of days. What? Academy is RIGHT NEXT to Freebirds, okay?), was probably the $65 I spent on a slide for my WE Tech 1911 Operator. Especially pointless, as I don't airsoft. My old slide was just falling apart, so I bought a new one.

Especially brainless purchase, 'cause I haven't had work hours in like, three weeks. I need to get a job again. >__>

I bought myself a game card for WoW. Now, I'm not saying that Wow is a bad game, but I payed 250 SEK (roughly 30 Dollars) for it, and I've only played twice now. I've played WoW for a couple of years so I guess it's only natural.
