I just finished watching Avatar: Last Airbender (the original not the BS movie) and I thought to myself wow even though I dont want it to end this is like the best ending I have seen in awhile. Then I got thinking what else ended with a glorious high note. To keep this also in line with a gaming discussion my favorite game endings are MW2, Halo, and the good ending of Fallout 3. It can be anything really, I'm just curious these days.

Personal favourite would have to be MGS4.

Tied up everything nicely and left no question unanswered.

Fire Emblem.
It was just AWESOME.
And the characters endings were great as well, even if a few made me tear up a bit.
Canas.....
;_;

and i also LOVED the ending to School Days.
Mostly because i love Revenge.
Love it love it love it.

I also like the ending to Rurouni Kenshin.
It was a nice sweet ending, and it was one where the main character was happy.
A lot of times even though the main character defeats the bad guy and goes through hell, he/she isn't allowed to be happy at the end of the series.

Serial Experiments Lain... it tied up everything, with a little twist, but left you thinking and wanting more...

Throwing in Final Fantasy X on this list. The game was meh overall with a few characters I didn't like. The ending however is one that more than made up for the many dull moments in that game. And before you ask, I am one of those people that pretends that X-2 does not exist. FFX's ending was the way to close that storyline, even if it was sad.

Believe it or not, even mentioning the title of the game which had the most satisfying ending to me would be a spoiler. It's a game with multiple endings, and one of them was the one of the most triumphant moments I ever felt. All I'll say is that it's one of the games I've reviewed.

For a more conventional example...Mizuki's Happy Ending, from A Drug That Makes You Dream.

Lord of the Rings. Not the movies, the book. I didn't want that damn book to end, I was SO into it, enjoying every word on every page. The last chapter or two had me with tears in my eyes. It was just so.. beautiful.

Really made me resent civilization, technology and society though.

If this is the game that I'm thinkin then I would have to agree with you sir. Personally though I prefer Aeka cuz of all the BS she went thru to finally have that last moment on the roof.

Bioshock comes to mind. As does the seventh eigth Finale of Scrubs... which makes it all the more confusing why they went on to make a ninth season. Serenity also was a good ending to the Firefly series in my opinion, so much so that I think any more seasons/movies of the show would ruin it at this point.

Persona 3+4
Final Fantasy Tactics
God of War 3
Shadow of the Colossus
Dragon Quest Monsters

...and I can't think of anything else at the moment, though they're definitely other games I ending-gasmed over.

What? Just mentioning the title is a spoiler? Gahh! You just made me very curios... Cant you tell me please? No? Pretty please with sugar on top? Oh...wait i think i have a hunch on which game it is...

OT: Most satesfying ending? Hmm...Gotta go with Drow's on A Drug That Makes You Dream that ending was very satisfying and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

For the most epic one...Mass Effect 2.

Personally I hated that ending because they purposefully left a huge cliffhanger no real closure to anything.
I think he was joking.

OT: Mafia, easily. The Sands of Time's ending too was very good.

Nothing. But thats because I always wonder more, even if its trivial things. I guess the most satisfying ending was when I returned Fusion Frenzy 2. I enjoyed it enough, but it overrall was lacking. I have no regrets about it being gone.

'The Bard's Tale' best game ending scene i ever witnessed, back in the day when my ps2 and i saw each other more often.
