EV Nova, a superb game that no one seems to have played.

I did. Ohhh, believe me, I did. And I played the hell out of its two predecessors, EV and EV Override. I think I had the most fun w/ EV creating my own ships and weapon mods, but Override and Nova had some fantastic storylines and ships.

And like others have said, Star Wars Republic Commando is underrated. They need to make a followup with a co-op mode.

And finally, the Timesplitters series of games was fantastic. FPS with like a dozen play modes, quirky and fun characters, and lighthearted, over-the-top storylines.

Ive always found it interesting that most of the huge mainstream games are but mediocre (yes there are exceptions like HL2, Fallout 3, DOW etc) whilst there are a myriad of games out there that haven't really grabbed the public's attention, yet were extremely fun to play like Cryostasis, Psychonauts, Crimson Skies etc. i just hate it how people drone on about how good they are at MW2 and how its "THE" best game in existence, i pity that 99% of them havn't played a generally good game.

SIM Theme Park for the playstation one.
I thought it was an engaging game, great builds, the customization was endless and there was one other awesome thing about it...OH YEAH!! YOU COULD CREATE AND RIDE YOUR OWN THEME PARK!!!!

For this year? I'd say Metro 2033.
I think everyone knows it but it got really crap reviews by a bunch of sites and I have not a fucking clue why. It's the most convincing post apocalyptic game I've played in ages. Makes Fallout 3's world (which admittedly is way bigger) look like a cheap mockup in contrast. Dunno about you but I've always been one for quality over quantity.

Agreed 100%. I simply LOVED the game.

Diablo II is underrated. People write it off as a crappy rpg but it is clearly the foundation of World of Warcraft.

From day one I look at WoW as a multi player Diablo II close - just with a diff view

Red Dead redemption. this game catches too much crap for some reason..it simply is one of the best games of all time and game of the year. i really dont understand one logical reason for it to be given so much crap...that and scott pilgrim vs the world..two AMAZING games

It was the kid you find that made the game for me. Metro has some great exposition. Not to mention: "I'm gonna be famous, I saw the sky!"

Also, I knew Neverhood would make an appearance in this thread. ^^

The Bard's Tale, a game that has wandered into public obscurity, brough up by only us few to suck it off inbetween talking about how Mario 2 is Doki Doki Panic and why the series is called Final Fantasy.

It's a truly funny game, with decent combat, and a perk system that actually has worthwhile choices, oh and it's moral choice system is awesome as it's basically prick or mega prick.
