Most Underwhelming E3 Trailer?

First off, let me say that I used to monitor E3 like something that is extremely proficient at covering gaming conventions. This was, of course, until Nintendo stopped releasing anything of interest for a long year, and the biggest project that they had announced for some time was Wii Music. Meanwhile, as a recently converted 360 fan, I had plenty of older games to check out before I became excited by new releases.

Now, with Nintendo finally getting to work on pleasing their hardcore audience, and with a number of older 360 games under my belt, I was once again ready to check out what E3 had to offer. And so the trailer watching began, and, I am afraid to say, found myself left with a bitter aftertaste at the end of almost any given trailer.

The one I felt was the most disappointing? Assassin's Creed 2. The visuals in this trailer are gorgeous, the stunning is setting, there's a very tense standoff scene, and...
The main assassin character pulls out a gun and shoots his target. Pardon my French, but this is the most anti-climactic bullshit, ever.

So anyway, what trailer (or other aspect, if you didn't watch any trailers) of E3 was the least impressive in your eyes?

Before everyone points out "Assassin's Creed 3?", I'd just like to say that we all know that he most likely meant Assassin's Creed 2.

Anyway, most disappointing trailer: Crysis 2, I know, it's just a teaser, and I'm way hyped for it, it felt very disappointing, I would have liked to see some gameplay footage, especially considering that they have already released a tech-demo for CryENGINE 3.

i agree. assassin's creed 2. ubisoft waited till the last 5 minutes of their conference to show it, and it ended up failing.

it was shiny, and cool, but not enough to satify me. that came later in the sony conference with the gameplay demo

Most of them, since there were no real trailers, just cinematic movies.

For all their faults you have to give Bethesda credit.. They ACTUALLY SHOW YOU GAMEPLAY.

I'd also mention Bioware, but Bioware has no faults.

I heard so about Splinter Cell: Conviction. But when I saw Sam bust down a door with a shotgun and waste three (or so) guys like he was Jack Bauer i was like "really?"

I don't see how anyone could find the Assassin's Creed 2 trailer underwhelming, I thought it was really interesting and just plain looked beautiful. I haven't seen all of the trailers, but of those I've seen I would say Halo: Reach is my choice. The coolest would have to be the Old Republic though, that was just badass.

Natal. I specifically got a 360 so I didn't have to use motion controls like the Wii. I want to chill in my couch and hit buttons. I'm extremely disappointed that Microshaft is following the herd and going to motion control. Next thing you know, they'll start cramming that "functionality" into games that don't work well.

If we are talking JUST trailers then from what I saw my vote goes to Mass Effect 2. Bioware...I saw that trailer a while ago, you couldn't show something different for a change instead of slightly tweaking this trailer?

Halo: Reach was another one. Ok it was more of a teaser but when Bungi said they were working on some secret game this came as no surprise.

Weird, I was loving every second of that demo. Definately got me interested in the game.

Look on the bright side, at least they got rid of emo Sam.

IMO, there wasn't anything wrong with the Assassin's Creed 2 trailer. It was created to show off some of the new features(including the gun), and that's what it did. Reminded me a bit of that scene in Indy where the guy comes at him with a sword and he just shoots him. :D

For me it had to be Left 4 Dead 2 because when I first saw it, I thought "Oh, a Left 4 Dead rip-off." but it turned out to be a true and real Valve made sequel. Once I had that bit figured out, I felt disappointed that a sequel for that is coming out so soon when we're still waiting for Half Life 2:Episode 3. (yes, I'm aware that there's different teams in Valve that are making the two games, but with Half Life 2:Episode 2's heart wrenching cliffhanger ending, I need closure god dammit!!!)

I don't see any problem with guns in Assassins creed, remember, guns were shitty back then. You would only have one shot then the laborious process of reloading, so it's more for getting a really quick and desperate kill to save your ass.
