I've seen a couple already, but my vote is ANY final boss from any fighting game.

I guess that's kind of the point, but damn. I don't think I've ever played a fighting game that had a fair final boss fight.

This may not count, but absolutely everything on I Wanna Be The Guy. Most impossible levels with bogus obstacles designed to enduce a ragequit out of you.

Kurt Schlichter. Boom!

OT: Anything that forces you to change your game plan suddenly. Like fast moving units appearing while you're equipped with a rocket launcher to take out armored targets.

Huntsman snipers in TF2?
Is the hitbox for their arrows still complete bullshit? I used to get headshotted in a sniper duel when it was clear their arrow hit my shoulder or actually missed.
However, if you can kill even one of the whores by reflecting their arrow back at them with the pyro then it makes the world a beautiful place again.

If any AI you play against counts, take a look at NBA Jam (or 99.9% of EA games, for that matter...)

The snipers in Half-life 2, on the train track level, comes to mind. Pretty much for the same reasons you brought up.
the main problem with them is that they are so well hidden. i had to waste grenades to kill those bastards

Manhacks. Particularly during the 'Anticitizen One' chapter where you get a fucking hundred of the things non-stop coming after you.

Street Fighter 4... Super...

Any fucking person that you fight against. If you fight against the fatass sumo wrestler, the AI LITERALLY has him throw you. And do nothing but throw you. If you try and get close, you get thrown. If you run away, and try to jump attack, he catches you, and throws you. I lose every FUCKING time during story mode because of the fat fuck throwing me until I die.

Mudcrabs in Oblivion. They were so hard, i turned and ran whenever I saw one. They deserved that dramatic battle music.
You obviously needed to increase your Fearsomeness stat.

I would have to say, almost every boss in Dead Rising 2. That, and Gracious and Glorious from Bayonetta.

and archers in Mount and Blade: Warband.

And, you know what, I'm just gunna say: Anything that has killed me more than twice in a row... in anything.

ANY AI enemy from STALKER (unmodded).

C'mon, really? Sequence of direct hits from the limit of your sight, health drops, armour takes a beating, drop to crouch, drop the assailant with two headshots, think to yourself - "Shit, that rifle seems pretty good, i'll go loot it.." run over, loot corpse, only to find they've dropped their Makarov next to them.

A Makarov. A shitty single action pistol, that struggles to punch through paper when you use it, and that's not counting the goddamned recoil. How the hell were they dropping surgical sniper fire IN THE DARK from that thing?

Any enemy from Mortal Kombat 2. If the computer decided you weren't gonna win then you weren't gonna win. No amount of skill would help.

Deathclaws in New Vegas.

Especially if, like me, you like to specialize in unarmed.

You realise that your gravity gun can pick them up? Then you can fling them against the walls/floors/other enemies for a 1-shot kill :)
