Most unfair and cheap enemies ever?

Any of the "death fairies" from any Touhou extra stage. To clarify, unlike most fairies, they are incredibly resilient, flood the screen with more bullets than usual, and in Imperishable Night's case, may take longer to kill than it takes to clear one of Mokou's spellcards. You will bomb at least once, just to make the bullet spam less dense. Hell even the most powerful bomb, Marisa's Master Spark will usually only just severely damage them.

I sound so macho don't I?

And who can forget the Fucking Overpowered Enemies aka F.O.Es from Etrian Odyssey? I don't even need to explain myself.

You think he's cheap, try fighting Weegee. You. Will. Die.

The fricking Medusa heads in Castlevania.

They swarm like crazy.

They can knock you back, usually off the narrow ledges usually found in the clock tower stage.

And they can cast stone, which will cause you to be unable to recover from said fall, even if you have the double jump or flying skill, and in most installments, being stoned causing double damage.

Scions from Mass Effect 2. I would have been fine with the Reaper ship... if it hadn't been for the fucking Scions around every corner. They can Shockwave you from across the level, have almost impenetrable armor, and half of your powers don't work on them.

The black fuzzy things from Korsakovia (HL2 mod) come to mind as the WORST enemies, period. But also unfair and cheap, seeing as you had to melee them, but their melee was infinitely more powerful, you couldn't actually see them properly, and they attacked in fucking SWARMS.

But you know, that was a mod, so I can't really hold any developers responsible...
The black smoke reskin for fast zombies weren't half as bad as the invisible manhacks during the part where you have to climb the tower of random debris for the3rd time or something. I ended up noclipping through that.

Dear Esther is getting a remake by a proffesional level designer [http://www.littlelostpoly.co.uk/devblog/], lets hope he gets rid of the stupid in Korsakovia too.

Cougars in Red Dead Redemption, I could be minding my own business, and they will appear out of nowhere just to claw me to death.

Also I have a suspicious feeling that there must be some cult dedicated to the consumption of any living Marston by means of wild animals.

Because I can't walk five steps in that game without being mauled halfway to death.

Enemy RPG troops from Mercenaries 1. My friend and I call them RPGtards because they have no self-preservation instinct whatsoever. They come in packs, run right up to you, and shoot you at point blank range.
Play the second mercenaries then - think of that but enemies armed with fuel air RPGs (think of mini portable nuke) - the number of times the HVTs died cause of them was amazing. And yes they still retard charge at you

Mudcrabs in Oblivion. They were so hard, i turned and ran whenever I saw one. They deserved that dramatic battle music.
I lol'd. But really, in Morrowind, the cliff racers were pretty nasty once they started to swarm you.

Soldiers in COD on veteran? Example: Oh really enemy soldier 1 you instantly detected I was behind that wall without even seeing me and you seem to be so damn accurate with your rifle and your grenades always seem to be thrown in just the right place. Damn aimbotters :p.

Minecraft's creepers popped to mind right away.

Followed shortly by the light guards in AS2 and ASB who could outrun Ezio, especially later in brotherhood when to full synch you couldn't kill anyone but the entire city would chase you down.

I just realised nobody has mentioned the Minecraft enemies. In particular, spiders and creepers. Zombies are strong, yet slow, and give themselves away with their incessant moaning. Skeletons, while having a ranged attack, are pretty easy to circle-strafe or just run away from. Spiders, however, can take lots of damage unless you have a good sword, can jump at you from what seems like a mile away and are strong as hell. Why doesn't anyone ever design spiders that are fair? And creepers are even worse. They don't make a sound, ever, and seem to be programmed to sneak up on you, unlike the other mobs. You can just be minding your own business, when all of a sudden you hear the "SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS-" And you just know that you are fucked.

EDIT: Got post-sniped. Oh well, my point still stands.

Everyone from Demon's Souls :D

No...seriously...the enemies i that game aren't really unfair, just hard. With one exception: Knights with a shield and a spear...they can attack you while staying behind their shield and be invincible...more or less...

And the Endboss of Two Worlds 2...the only thing he tests is weather you have enough health potions or not...stupid dragon even roasting me with 100% fire resistance...

Oh...that reminds me...the Endboss of Prototype...every attack from him knocks you down, he has unlimited projectiles and unlimited Devastator attacks, you can't stager him unless you hit him twice within a second with heavy things thrown at him and there is a time limit and a billion soldiers around, who still shoot at you although you want to 'help'...that is...they disappear around the center mark and you are left without any walking health potions....

Infesting larvae on Alien Swarm. Half of the time you don't even have time to react to heal the victim if they get a larva inside them.

Anyone here play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic? Those goddamn spiders were everywhere, they were insanely hard to kill, and their poison will fucking kill you if they so much as touch you. Unless you have an antidote potion, of course. Which is only one use and doesn't protect you from subsequent bites, when you're standing right in the middle of a swarm of them. Did I mention you only get ten or so antidotes up until the time you meet your first spiders? You're going to die in here, man. You're going to die.
I used to hate them too until I realized this: Their poison can't kill you, only drain you to 1 health. At that point you drink one potion and wait for the next bite to drain you to 1. This way spiders can't kill you unless they do their lunging bite attack when you are at 5 health or lower. Really takes the edge off the spider parts of the game.

Great game by the way. I wish it could get a sequel with a bit more polish and the attention it deserves.

Sounds like Jinpaichi Mishima from Tekken 5. I don't know about that one, but Jinpaichi can never be bested as cheapest enemy ever. At most he can be equaled.

Point being, that besides the usual roll of cheap attacks most beat'em up bosses have (think SFIV Seth, Virtua Fighter Dural, etc), he also has one attack, which he loves to spam, that's absolutely unbeatable. One of the fastest attacks in the game, highest priority, absurd radial range that's bigger than any other attack in the game barring Devil Jin's and Jinpaichi's ranged attacks, has almost instant recovery, can not be blocked, and stuns you for at least 5 to 10 seconds.

With that he can combo whatever the fuck he wants. With most cheapy enemies like Seth you can at least guarantee a victory if you either play the perfect match or at least abuse the AI... But not Jinpaichi, since that's such a failsafe move that beating him becomes about how much he feels like using that one move. I've had matches where I've dropped him to a good 5-ish % health, while being on full health, and he essentially decides "fuck you, I wanna win". Spams that shit out of nowhere and proceeds to stun lock me to death.

Whomever put that one fucking move in the game needs to be kicked in gonads till their heads explode.
Actually the final boss in DoA4 was worse. Jinpachi could be bested on Easy mode. DoA4 has no Easy mode. You really should try it, if you like frustration.

I've been playing A LOT of Tron: Evolution, so I might be in the minority here but:

Those damn agile guards. They resist everything and even when you slow them down you gotta spam attack them to kill them, I dunno what the hell it is, I can kill most things in 3-4 heavy smash attacks on INSANE (hardest difficulty), but they take almost 6-7 heavy smash attacks. It's too much!

enemies with a shield, let me clarify this, giant shields that cover the entire body, takes a million shots/chops/fireballs to get down and doesn't seem to stop them from wielding badass weapons or slow them down, the two worst that i can think of right now are the ones from halo CE, they freaking recharged, and the riot shields from MW2, i only played MP for 2-3 hours, but i would rather face a helicopter than a guy with a riot shield.

also, yaay, 2011th comment.
I agree, in Tron they have Heavy Guards with a shield which take a LOT of damage to kill, it's expected, yeah, so I'm not nearly as angry as I am with the agiles.
You mean Clu's Scouts? I hate them so much. The only way to kill them is to constantly parry and even when you do that they still kill you.

Aahh... reminds me of ARMA 2. Good times.

Was lying in the grass, had a perfect sniper shot lined up. A bit of a long range, but the target was standing still. I fired. And I instantly died.

Turns out, at the exact moment I fired, the target 'heard' the shot, pulled up his AK and fired back, hitting me in the head.

At least I took him with me...

How do you even kill those on insane difficulty?
