This one. Go away.

But in all seriousness, it is probably 4chan.
Either Twitter, Gamespot, Youtube or 4Chan which you already said. Also GTA 4 online has alot of ass holes as well. (And any COD game)
Surely Twitter's level of friendliness depends on how nice your friends are, no?

Motifake is horrible. It is just a bunch of inside jokes, and when you say something about it you might as well bend over and take the ass pounding because your just going to be tired if you struggle.

XBox live comes to mind. I know everyone will say "4Chan" but /b isn't really that bad once you get past some of the gore. It consists of more porn than anything.

The opposing team in Left 4 Dead's Versus mode. First they grief you, then they talk smack. Talk about adding insult to injury.

CAD - Say anything about some of the older characters or anything and you get perma banned. Like Scott, the Linux guy.

I hate that comic now anyway.

I would say that most communities generally are intolerant to being open. I'd just say this because unless the community is discussing about a 'genre' like shooter games, or Yuri dicussion board, or anything like that, or even here in the escapist, then the discussions don't want to hear arguments.

Fans can make a game great, or terrible, you won't know how their ideals run until you see them yourself.

Hell, the Escapist has been the most tolerant place, last community I went to I got banned because..........I dunno, picking my nose IRL?

I know why, politics. They favored the grumpy ass that liked smearing everyone's name, I tried to tell the man to politely to shut up, and got banned for it.

As a lot of other people have said, most FPS communities are pretty bad--notably Halo 3/Reach beta and Modern Warfare 2. Personally, I didn't think there were nearly as many 12 year old pottymouths on Halo 2. Shame, really. I don't play WoW so I'm not sure but I've heard of some douchebags on there. Diablo 2 LoD and Starcraft players are also typically assholes, so let's hope the Battle.net fanboys will be friendlier in D3 and SC2.

As for non-gaming communities, I'd have to say 4chan (mostly /b/, because sometimes places /r9k/, /mu/ and /adv/ can be friendly), YouTube, BlogTV and the forums of a certain NHL team I follow.

Well, I've never been to 4chan,(I'm afraid that I'll stumble upon something terrible.)
So, I guess I'll say youtube.

Most of the comments are just people acting like idiots.
There are some good people, but not a lot.
oh trust me you would stumble across something terrible

O.T. any fps's and of course everyone is an asshole on these places although I still havn't encountered a one on halo 3 maybe it's because they left for mw2

4chan's /b/. They're extremely racist, anti-religious, and homophobic (although judging by some of the user content I'd have to say a good percentage is gay).

STEAM has some terrible forums.
And as said, ALL the Call of Duty games have horrible communities.
But I think the (Super) Street Fighter IV communities, especially on the consoles (I'm not saying the hardcore Pro players, I mean the normal players) are horrible. Whether they use unfair tactics, accuse you of using unfair tactics, or the infinite Kens and Akumas, the core SSFIV community makes me cry.
Even with all the new characters they're still just using Ken? That's disappointing...Ahh well, more ragdolls for my Gief to flail around. Im so used to common Ken tactics that I rarely lose to Ken. Akuma's a different story though, almost every match they spend the whole match jumping away from me throwing diagonal fireballs, and if I manage to get close they teleport to the other side of the screen, rinse & repeat. I try to get just the right distance so that they teleport themselves close to me and then I can get some good attacks in before they get away, but it's really tough to win a match that way.

Akuma pisses me off, Sagat's even worse...

OT: I wanna say 4chan, but....
People on Runescape are fucking assholes! I used to hate when people tried to "team up" with me in the wilderness only to attack me first chance they got...it almost made me glad they took out the wilderness. Also, in a minigame called "fist of guthix" where 2 players take turns getting their stats buffed up and try to hunt down the other player, it's suprisingly fun :D
except....

when it was their turn to hunt me and I was winning people would send me messages saying I was a coward for running away from them even though THAT'S THE POINT OF THE FUCKING GAME. They were basically complaining that I didn't let them win easily!

What do the Escapists think is the most unfriendly online community? Be it a game or a website. I say MW2. Im a Halo veteran so I thought I was ready for any asshole I could meet in a videogame. I was wrong, dead wrong.

Oh, well, that's all right then. I'll just pop over there for a conversation. I still don't want to see that shit. Not the gore, nor the terrifying porn that they put up. 4chan is John Gabriel's Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory personified, especially since they don't even have usernames.

Wait what?! People DON'T like Guro?

Alright that's okay, I still got some child porn that I've been eager to pull out.

Any primary competitive online multiplayer game. Halo, Call of Duty, GTAIV, all of them. Play anyone of those games and chances are you are going to get yelled at randomly by a 5-13 year old and have racial insults by 14-25 years just because of your name/gamertag, ethnicity/ religion, sexuality, voice, or age. Almost no one is safe from verbal abuse, from the nice who are insulted and the minorities who get discriminated against.

As for 4chan, just don't say any thing that makes you look different that the board you are using and read the rules, and don't go to /b/ or /v/ unless your racist. Safest interesting board if /co/, which has comic fandom and cartoon jokes.

This web site, just don't make a pro-causal thread and your safe. I have never found any racial or ethnic discrimination post or threads in a long time, so your safe here.
