Escapist has the best community I've seen. Normally I get yelled a lot at IGN but the worst I've got here so far is " Could you please not repeat this thread topic?".

As for game, any FPS shooter other than L4D probably.
Fixed. We are a really nice community, sort of a safe haven for the internet.

For my answer, I say (*drumroll*) MW2!
My cousin plays it, and, after examining his behavior and amounts of rage-quitting, I expect his blood pressure to be sky-high.

Gamefaqs! ARGH!

You can get flamed for saying your name on that bloody forum. I know, I was on there.
This for sure. The amount of fanboys on that site is just scary. Every thread is a flame war. and oh god the Final Fantasy boards....

Youtube. Good luck seeing any comments related to the video, as long as it has any reference to a nation.
Just look up "F-22", and look down.
Well, it depends on what video you see.

I'm subscribed to a Let's Player named Tatsudoshi, and most of his fans are pretty smart, or at least, don't really troll on his vids.

(The ones that do are random vid searchers looking for a "pro-playah, noob-killa" video, instead of a comical walkthrough).

I honestly cant believe that its taken five pages of responses... and no one has mentioned a political site like democratic underground. Even if you're not a USA local, you've got to see some of the stuff that will get bantered about there. Its only tolerable in small doses, don't overdo it. Truly terrific turds.

For the more juvenile/racist/sexist stuff Counter Strike a few years ago was the place to get called whatever you could think of.

If you find a game that you don't mind lone wolfing, or you're all going for flag type objectives and you're tired of the insults (whether or not they are deserved) find a German speaking server to play on. Heck, any foreign language may work since very few folks will be able to speak with you (or type to you that you'll understand) and if they do it will be simple things like "rush building".

"rush building" > racial epitaphs.

STEAM has some terrible forums.
And as said, ALL the Call of Duty games have horrible communities.
But I think the (Super) Street Fighter IV communities, especially on the consoles (I'm not saying the hardcore Pro players, I mean the normal players) are horrible. Whether they use unfair tactics, accuse you of using unfair tactics, or the infinite Kens and Akumas, the core SSFIV community makes me cry.
What is so bad about steam???!!! you talk to friends, make some, join groups, buy games in a easier way and talk to friends while playing them!

A lot of pretentious attitudes there, that seem to care more about the fact that you're not doing it their way rather than helping artists develop as a whole. A lot of people claim that it is there to help artists but really I can't see it at all. And no, I'm not saying this because I was criticized there, if anything it was more about the lack of any real criticism.

Other elitist sites of similar natures, art related or otherwise, seem to carry this vibe about them that makes them more annoying to get involved with than anything.

Valve's community isn't conventionally unfriendly, but its peculiar breed of soul-sapping entitlement and cynicism - regarding some of the best games ever made - will destroy your happiness faster and far more completely than simple rudeness ever could.
What? the people I play/talk on valve games/steam people are friendly (mostly if they arent those 7 year old mic spammers HEEEEEY STOP TAT FUKA... STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOP)other than that its pretty good

This one. Go away.

But in all seriousness, it is probably 4chan.
No no, we win the most elitist/stuck up community

And I have to agree 4chan, specifically /b/ is the worst community on the internet.
I was only joking :p

Really? I don't think we are stuck up so much as we have a higher standard here. This is a pretty welcoming community from what I've experienced.
So many members here say this site is so much better than any other, that's pretty stuck up to me

Oh and I've seen people say "Go back to Gamefaqs" before on multiple occasions, that's not very welcoming =/

hmmmmmmm, lemmi think... I think Valve has this peripheral site that they don't own, you can get banned for crappy spelling.
Facepunch? I friggin' hate Facepunch.

I hate Garry, too. WHY THE HELL CAN'T YOU PATCH A GAME WITHOUT BREAKING THINGS? How the hell does he manage to change one thing that causes 50 addons to stop working. After the update that changed the menu picture I remember four of my maps broke and I had to update a bunch of addons. I basically stopped playing Gmod because Garry, as well as his forum, are massive assholes.

Edit: Also http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Facepunch

I don't go on 4chan or/b/ so I don't know about them. But I believe that AOL has a terrible terrible community.

Every comment is either "come meet tall handsome people!" "I'm in the military and single and looking for someone to love!" being horribly, horribly racist, calling someone a "fag" at the first sign of a disagreement, or falling back on criticizing the government (primarily obama).

It's just really really annoying, very childish. AOL actually banned commenting on their articles until they can fix it.

Moving to the Escapist forums was such a huge relief.
