So I just had to walk out on The Dark Knight Rises (which I've really been wanting to see) because of... well, let's just call it a "stomach upset." Needless to say, I'm totally bummed and feel like absolute shit right now. Has anybody else ever been forced to walk out on a movie for reasons beyond their control?

I've been forced to pause a movie and resume it later (next day), but I've never gone to the theater and not finished the movie there.

Not at a theater. Home, anything's possible, but I'm pretty certain of myself for all outings.

I've left in the middle of a movie at the theater to use the restroom a few times at least three times every visit[footnote]Consarn you, Icee machine with free refills[/footnote] but I've never permanently left.

Well... I had to leave Cars about 45 minutes in because my little brother was pitching a fit because he was bored.
It was boring though, so I was glad. We went to the park instead.

I didn't physically leave Dark Knight Rises but I kind of left it mentally. I had drank one of those large cinema Cokes with a mickey of rum mixed in. I had to pee so badly during the last 45 mins of DKR, it was utterly painful. I didn't want to miss anything so I refused to go to the washroom until the end of the movie. Problem is, I spent so much of that time mentally willing myself not to piss my pants that I barely remember the ending of the movie. Massive fail on my part.

The second (And so far last) time I went to see an IMAX movie we had to leave, because the lights and the screen went out, which made my big sister hyperventilate (She is incredibly afraid of the dark).

Same with me, it's terrible. As for Goofguy, I don't think I could have told you the endings to any of the Harry Potter or LOTR films until I watched them on DVD thanks to my pee-zombie state.

Never left a movie in the theater. The closest I got to leaving before a film was over was for Transformers 2 (for reasons that are probably pretty obvious). The only reason I didn't leave was because I was with my brother and some friends. Didn't want to seem rude.

But never for reasons beyond my control

Me and a couple friends left during one of the 'movies' movies, the one with Narnia where you want to poke out your eyeballs and choke yourself with them, we left that but it was by choice.

Not by choice I did once fall asleep during the opening to Tron Legacy because I hadn't slept at my mates house for like 40 hours, he noticed and nudged me awake laughing his head off. one minute theirs a kid on a bike, next minute the bike is very groovy looking.

I walked out on Epic Movie when it came out because I was underage for the target audience. I didn't find the humor funny and I found some of it disgusting. I only watched it because my classmates thought they were so mature and tried to act like adults. It was stupid, I never liked those classmates and I can now enjoy the movie (though it's not ALL that good).

No, I never permanently walked out on a film that I?ve paid to see in a theatre. I?ve occasionally had to pop out to the toilet if I?m really desperate, like when I watched Inception with my friends (which was a long and confusing film that I didn?t like that much anyway).

C'mon you pansy, you left because of a stomach ache? My friend's mom went into labor half way through Titanic and she sat through the whole damn thing THEN went to the Hospital.

I NEVER leave the Movie theatre until I feel I've gotten my monies worth, even if that means sneaking into other movies cuz the first one sucked. It's like $20 for the ticket alone! Then you tack on any snacks you want and that one guy in your group didn't bring enough money, who the hell do they think they are? It's like $40 all together, FORTY!! That's fucking absurd.

Not a stomach ache, more of a "rapid stomach emptying."

I was with my cousins watching TDKR the other day, and we had to leave, since two of them were under 12, and I was under 18 so they couldn't stay with me.

took a piss during Joh Carter and missed the second massive combat scene. My friend's jaw was still on the floor when I got back and they cut back to the romans.

I walked out during Kick Ass because it was shit and I also had to leave during Hot Fuzz because I cracked a tooth on a peanut M&M and it hurt like hell.

Walked out at the end of a few games at Anfield too, and after todays "result" I may be walking out of a few more if that kind of performance becomes the norm.
