Well obviously, but go ahead and look at Moviebob's review of "Kick-Ass" this week. He points out exactly what I feel about Jurassic Park.

I think Jurassic Park was a way better movie than the book was. I remember trying to read it when I was a kid and thought it was not fun to read it.
I would recommend reading it again. The reason you didn't enjoy it as a child is because, unlike the movie, it isn't for kids. None of Crichton's stuff is for kids, for that matter.

LoTR series.... and thats about it.
no, how dare you. just because 90% of the world cannot understand those books does not mean that the movie was better. ok mabye it does. but the books were still pretty good
alright, the books were okay. But come on, I've had rye bread that wasn't that dry. The amount of detail in them made them sound like someone was telling the IT guys what to add to the CGI
ok, it does take some time to adjust to his writing style. but it is an accomplishment that the books spawned three killer movies, am i right?
alright, sure. but i still say the movies were better

I Know What You Did Last Summer. I know, the movie's cheesy enough as it is. The book is worse. No one dies in it, and the bad guy is caught by the police. What the hell, so much for thriller.

Fight Club. Hands Down. Great as the book was, the movie transcended great.

The Shining is a close second though, but they're both very different in terms of direction and themes.

I disagree. The original ending is much more poetic. The way the changed it changed the movie from a work of art, to a movie.

I've read Stephen King's book, the shining, and found the movie much more entertaining. It did carry the essence of the story anyway so I wasn't too bothered by the lapses or changes to the plot.
