The Grudge, but not in a scary way...more of the fact my ex girlfriend used to look like the grudge and it was way too funny to keep in :')

Scott Pilgrim, 7 minutes in I felt I was getting dumber by the second, OMFG i'll never get those 7 minutes back.
I was going to say this, nearly word for word.

Except i would have replaced the "Minutes" with "Seconds"

Worst movie ive ever seen.

Wait no you're all wrong!! the worst movie to sit through is Eragon!! <<<<< this shit beats the Room!
It wasnt hard to sit thorough, it was just Horrible. Its the worst movie ive ever seen, but not the most painful to watch.
You see to be throwing "the worst movie I've ever seen" around a bit too much.
Also, there is absolutely no way to judge a movie after that little time.

I really can't remember the movie I had the most trouble watching so I'll just go with Australia. It just seemed so pointless. For some reason that little boy knew magic and it had five different points where it could have ended, but didn't. An incredibly long and tedious movie. Had I not been forced to watch it in school, I would just have walked out.
You misunderstand me, i did watch the entire movie. i feel i have the right to judge it after a hour and twenty minuites. Just saying.

Any torture porn movie is by definition hard to watch, but I also find movies like Boys Don't Cry, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Brokeback Mountain hard to watch due a different sort of torture. Schindler's List was also really hard to watch.
we watched about 30 mins worth of extracts in school - not too hard to watch tbh, except the selection part and the dump with the red coat
if they showed it to you in school, it has probably been heavily censored. watch the whole film and i promise you won't smile for at least a week.

I'm sort of sorry you exist. ;)

But seriously, that's probably one of the best movies from the last decade.
I was waiting for this comment. It wasn't, but whatever. Everyone has different tastes, it just so happens that most people don't like shit. If that's one of the best movies of the decade then we are in deep shit. This thread is supposed to be about movies YOU found hard to watch, not trying to convince others that your opinions are right. There was no need to take a shot at me personally, everyone has their opinions you know, think about that for next time.

PS. After you quoted me, another guy quoted me saying he felt the same way I did, heh, imagine that, people having opinions that differ from others.

I really found it hard to sit through Get Him To The Greek, due to the fact that it was the first date with my girlfriend that involved her parents watching the movie with us.

Of the movies I've watched I've only fallen asleep during two that I can recall:

Free Willy 3
Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones

I don't watch movies very often.

Ah. While I still disagree, that is fair enough.

GASP! But it had video game sound effects! And that's all a movie needs.

Anyways, mine is the Titanic 2. Yes, such a movie actually exists. I streamed it on Netflix and I just couldn't stand the fact that there actually was a Titanic 2

A little gem called "A Serbian film", it's supposedly a political commentary on Serbia in the 80's but really it's a about a retired porn star who performs sickening sexual acts for money to provide for his family.

Stay the hell away from it, it only was allowed an 18 rating after 4 minutes of footage was cut and the film is already the single most revolting thing to come from the confines of the human mind, I'd expect the 4 minutes cut would put Hitler's final solution to shame.

Interestingly they have a copy at my local blockbuster :|

EDIT: Birth of a nation as well, it was by no stretch of the imagination a bad film, I just found it uncomfortably racist

A Clockwork Orange was very hard to watch just in terms of the conten and how unpleasent what's happening is.

The hardest to watch however was Inland Empire, I like weirdness, I consider myself an aficionado of weird films. But Inland Empire? Was just 3 hours of random scenes with just enough coherence to make you think that there might be a plot in there somewhere. I don't even know if I like it or not it's that weird.

A surprising ammount of people ot understanding Borat here.

8 pages of entries, all (mostly) either completely in the inane, or completely in the cerebral.

One is certain, though. The trend seems to indicate one thing- either a movie is so stupid it's hard to watch, or too smart to be accessible, and also hard to watch.

It's amazing to me how many movies I love to watch are in these pages, both in the inane and the cerebral.

I guess my entry into this would have to be Blade Runner. There's a lot of seemingly fantastic things going on in this movie, but in 4 attempts to finish it to the end, I've ended up having 4 unplanned naps. Something about the narrative pacing or the muted, dark environment knocks me out every time.

The Bourn Ultimatum

Decent film, but good lord ENOUGH with the shaky cam!!!1one!1 I'd like to actually see the film thank you. Not 2 hours of motion blur and squinting to work out what the frack was going on.

Gamer. Need I say more?
Yeah, you probably should. Gamer was enjoyable in my eyes, as I am quite the Gerard Butler fan.

Elaborate, if you will.
Not even Gerard Butler couldn't save that train wreck. The writing was like a bad "SYFY" movie, made worse by the shoddy performances by actors and actresses that could do so much better. The whole thing was just sex and violence, which is just deplorable, even in this day and age. Pointless tit flashes and sex scenes just to keep the male audience interested. If I had to give a nod to anything in that movie, the overall idea was great, but for some stupid reason, the directors/writers decided to shit all over it. The ending was stupid and predictable.
I mean, come on, who wouldn't have guessed that it was Michael C. Hall's character that framed him (even in the way he did it) the whole time? It was obvious.

The thing that bothered me the most...
MICHAEL C HALL'S DANCE SEQUENCE. WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!
It was like the directors themselves didn't want us to take their movie seriously. So add some stupid, pointless dance sequence.

When I first saw the commercials for it, I was very optimistic. Then I found out that it was a terrible movie. I decided not to watch it in theaters. Then it came out on Netflix. That's when I decided to give it a try. I wasn't going in expecting much, but what I got was 2 of my favorite actors being tarnished by a shitty movie. It really let me down. Glad I didn't pay for it.

I have had a few that I have mentally blocked but the latest one is "watchmen", I heard this site go on and on about it so while in need of a film to watch I picked it up at the shop, popped it into my PS3 and was bored out of my frigging mind.

The ink blot guy's mask was pretty cool and the big blue fella was pretty awesome and the bit where he explodes the guy was nice but other than that it was awful.

What the hell was with the batman rip off guy by the way?

Grown Ups and Land of the Lost, only the latter being out of choice. Both horrible, horrible movies, enough to deserve that redundancy. I talked to some friends who enjoyed the former movie, any respect for them disappeared that day.

Then I watched Seven Samurai and my faith in humanity was regained.

Dude, I was teasing you. Hence the Winky Face. What kind of awful human being would say something like that and be serious?

To be honest, the 1st half-hour or so of the movie is kinda slow, but I found that the ending makes up for the slow start. I only wish that the movie was as good as the comics.

Nearly all the characters were rip-offs. Alan Moore wasn't allowed to use the real characters. Also, you should read the book.
