I haven't watched it yet but I disagree with it, just out of principle.
Have you ever agreed with any review he's made? I tend to agree with him 80% of the time.

If only other youtube movie reviewers stop copying this guy. Like this guy for example.

I couldn't even finish that one. Boring af.

Anyway, Plinkett's prequel reviews were cool back in the day.

Yeah, it's a good breakdown of what's wrong with this movie. Doesn't stop it from being another video adding to the dogpile.

I disagree, given the fact they come at this from the perspective of film creators rather then critics or fans like the other big names from all this (E;R, MauLer and the like) they manage to add a new perspective to it all in ripping this turd apart.

Yes, actually, I don't see anything wrong with his review of the Ghostbusters remake. I absolutely agreed with it.

Other than that, the prequel reviews are very well realized but I can't say that I find them very insightful. When it comes to RLM, the thing is that the only one with good taste is Jay. Mike is a funny guy but his taste just doesn't align with mine most of the time and I don't think it's good enough for him to act as elitist as he sometimes does.

I thought this was the weakest Plinkett review tbh.

Felt very aimless and nitpicky the first half until it finally got a better point in the second half.

I loved Last Jedi and was willing to give this a chance, but I found it a disappointing mixed bag.

I thought that video was much better than the Plinkett review. And I say this as a Red Letter Media fan.

Yeah same here to be honest- there wasn't much of the classic Plinkett humour in it which was a pity. But I guess that's the case when the film doesn't give him as much to work with as the Prequels did.

Didn't really change my opinion on TLJ either- still thought it was a good film.

lets see

weird tonal swings only compounded by most of the deleted scenes being comedy

"subverting expectations"

casino planet bad

characters boring

they didn't mention anything anyone else hasn't already mentioned (including themselves in their actual review), this is just a comedy video where they say the same talking points in a different voice

I love RLM, but this is pretty dated no matter how much you have to justify how bad the movie was to cover up the fact that it triggered you
To cut him some slack, Mr. Pinkett was also far from the first to point out that Jar Jar Binks wasn't very funny or that the romance between Padme and Anakin was awkward or that "Only the Sith deal in absolutes" is, indeed, an absolute. On the contrary, the prequels acted as punching bags for pedantic dweebs for much longer than Last Jedi has.

Mr. Pinkett was just the first to make multiple two hour videos on them where he repeats these complaints in a funny voice. And I'll say it again, they'really well realized videos with some great jokes but they didn't add a new critical perspective on these movies.

Mike Stoklasa is still better at it than someone like MauLer, whose pedantic nitpicking I had trouble taking seriously even before he turned around to shower a mediocre hackjob like Infinity War with praise or E;R, who I can't listen to for more than two minutes without wanting to stuff him into a locker. Though I'm sure he did a fine job pointing out which of the producers are jewish ( I'm sorry, gem-ish, as his only point of reference seem to be cartoons for grade schoolers) in a totally not racist way.

I don't know if the weakest but nothing gets my eyes rolling faster than Mike turning to Star Trek for good examples of anything.
