I was really hoping this would pertain to a possible Kingdom Hearts 3. This spin-off crap is making me angry.

Still, this does help justify the purchase of a PSP. I might get one if things get any better.
Actually, these spin-offs are necessary. Well, 358/2 days wasn't, it was still great. Birth By Sleep and Coded are going to be the foundations for the story of KH3, whenever Nomura gets off of his ass to bring that to fruition. Birth By Sleep is definitely one to look out for, if you don't play it, you'll be just as clueless as I was playing KH2 without playing CoM.

...Holy balls that was a lot of keyblades...I thought these things were supposed to be rare items of mythical untold power? The hell? And damn, I might actually have to go handheld and pick these damn spinoffs up.
Actually they are rare but they weren't always that way. They used to be an order (kinda like the jedi) of keyblade warriors but then there was a war pitting faction against of keyblade warriors. after the war the order was greatly reduced to only a few keyblade warriors and masters. Birth by sleep is the story of those masters and warriors and how the order of the keyblade ended. And you find out sora was never suppost to be a keyblade warrior. he never had the power to make or use the keyblade top begin with and you will find out how he came to be a keyblade warrior. hope that explains the confusing part.

personally i wish they would have made a game on the great keyblade war, because if you saw the original bbs trailer, imagine about 100,000 of those fucker fighting at once... the epicness id beyond reason
To further that point (this may be a spoiler so...)

You find out that Riku was actually supposed to be the next keyblade wielder, but when he gave himself to the darkness in order to save Kairi and persue power, the keyblade used Sora as a kind of second-best option.

The PSP game actually answers this, but basically the keyblades are rare by the time of KH1 but were more common in the past, and there's *one* particular keyblade that's of mythical untold power. BBS's story is about how all of this was lost.

The new Kingdom Hearts game is coming out on my birthday! I'm not going to get it!

I've had enough of the Keyblade Adventures. Not even Spock could get me interested again.

Dammit, I'm going to have to borrow my brother's PSP for this. I love the KHs saga, playing through 358/2 Days right now, and thoroughly enjoying it. Yes, it can get complex, but it's also such an interwoven story that it can afford to be a little tricky.

Good news and all, but was I the only one who seen that hot lady in black in the first couple of seconds and thought I might've got the wrong trailer for a few seconds?

Still, it's nice not to have Disney-eque flatchesters populating the KH world... completely.

This makes me even more mad at SE now. I want this so badly, but because I only have a DS I only get half the story. Is that fair? Or good business srategy? On both counts:

Hell no.

I know people are complaining that this game is a "Spin off". But in truth, this game does come to have a role in the major plot for Kingdom Hearts 3, which is to say that I also don't want to spoil it.

Making these games for the handhelds (handhelds not many people have according to the NPD reports *cough* PSP *cough*)
Kingdom Hearts is a game series made by a Japanese game developer. Made foremost for the Japanese public, then ported to America. Square's loyalty and fandom lies mostly in the Japanese public.

And guess where the PSP sells like hotcakes?*Cough*JAPAN*Cough*

It may not sell as well elsewhere, but it by no means does bad.

Please come up with a better excuse sometime.[/quote]

Nice final line, makes you sound defensive. Anyways, not like I really care but last I checked they're releasing this game in the United States, where OMG, PSP's are the equivalent of poop on a stick -the stick to most people. I will relent on the fact that this company's loyalty lies with the Japanese public but that point becomes moot when they release the game in the west AND expect loads of sales.

Also to expand on my last post; They could have ported the game to say the PS3 for example like what they did for Chain of Memories on the PS2 later on in that game's release. Now the fact that they are releasing this game on the PSP before that happens (if it even happens at all) means that they're shooting themselves in the foot in terms of raw sales. By the time this happens, the game will seem like old news and less people will purchase it. That doesn't even take into account the avoidance of spoilers, but that's a story for another day.

North America gets bonus stuff..... then they'll turn around and make a Final Mix for Japan again. Granted CoM didn't have a Final Mix per se, but for a while we thought that RE:CoM would be Japan only for the longest time (and we still didn't get KH2 Final Mix+)
