Single Player is more important, i generally buy more single player games than ones which include multiplayer because the single player is usually short.

Borderlands being the prime example of what I like.
Its possibly to play Single Player, and still fun at that.
The game is the same online, just more fun.
There is the possibility for PvP.
And its an RPG.

I play both types. I love Dragon Age, but still enjoy an online specific like MAG. If the servers are up and the moderators are taking down cheaters then I love online play. If they're not then why bother?
The Single player is still important to me in a game that has both modes. I didn't buy COD:MW2 because I heard the single player (while awesome, I played a few levels on a friends system) isn't long enough to justify $60 and the online was already hacked.

Single player, other people suck. Now that I have produced offspring I don't get more than 15 mins at a time at home before I need to deal with something so there is no way I can play multiplayer anything.
Single player, I play games so I don't have to listen to people, multi-player defeats my purpose.
I don't mind either, as long as the game itself is designed to one extreme. So I play a lot more single player games.
I mean, MW and Halo 3 can be fun, but the truly memorable moments happen in games like Bioshock, KOTOR and Half Life 2. At the same time, however, the most fun multiplayer experiences come in games like L4D and Counterstrike. It is very rare to find a game that can achieve a successful blend of single and multiplayer; Halo: CE and COD2 are the only ones off the top of my head.

I'm primarily a Single Player gamer, but I have recently gotten some multiplayer experience in Ghostbusters and BioShock 2.
I vastly prefer single-player games, and usually don't even explore the multiplayer options of the games that I have.
That said, there are a couple of game series that I play almost exclusively on multiplayer, because the commumnity isn't filled with screeching assholes: Battlefield (occasional horrible server) and Mechwarrior (idiot-free).

Single Player games, I like multi-player, but old-skool multi-player split screen or LAN. I just can't get into multi-player on-line. It doesn't help that the PS3 doesn't have a good, easily available headset. I played on-line with my 360 for a bit, but (cringes awaiting Fan-boy ire) I found it childish and full foul mouthed children. So I just avoid it completely now.
But mainly I like story. I get bored with games quite quickly, I love audio-logs and diaries. The push forward, stats and trophies / achievements just don't do it for me. I also prefer a cerebral challenges to at least punctuate my play. I find solving a puzzle more compelling than that killing people, but still either without story leave me cold. So I would come back to my original point, story.

I prefer the SP for it's general experience as it can usually be more intense, have story, put meaning to the characters and even gameplay.

I prefer single-player. Multi-player games are all about repetition, so i can only play them for so long before i get bored. Good single-player games (that aren't repetitive or copy and paste) are hard to find but when you find them are extremely rewarding (metal gear solid for example).

HAHAHA Awesome!!! I loved this game i played it for about 4/5 years myself i absolutely loved MOH:AA back in the day. Espcially all the old taunts: TRY AGAIN!!! COME BACK WHEN YOUVE HAD SOME TARGET PRACTICE!! lol good times. I actually booted it back up not 5 days ago to have a look there are still like 2000 people playing at some stages.black-magic said:
Anyway onto topic i personaly like Multiplayer over Single player. Obviously some games are purely SP like Mass Effect which is great, its fun sometimes to experience a story by your self and be involved in your own little world.
But for long lasting appeal and great dynamic gaming experience Multiplayer is the way to be. Back in the day on Aliens Vs Predator 2 and MOH:AA, Counter strike source upto now adays from COD:WAW and now onto Bad Company 2 its all about multiplayer.
Single player. Most of the time multiplayer involves other people and I don't know many people I'd like to play games with.
FOR THE THIRD TIME TODAY I play games for two reasons, fun or a challenge. In general, people are tossers, so I don't like multiplayer. For a better explanation of it, see Yahtzee. Anyway, as multiplayer games are full of tossers I don't find them fun. If they're a challenge it can be alright, but frankly if I'm going to put loads of effort in to be good at something, I'd do sport, it's more likely to get me laid. I play mostly single-player games for a good story or some interesting gameplay, like Half-Life 2 and Portal respectively.
