This year im off to wakestock, which if you dont know is a wakeboarding music festival supposed to be really good (loads of mates have been in the past) Plays more dancey music than some other festivals like leeds which I personally just call the "Chart Fests" and i dont like the charts at all at the moment, so im not off there :p Yeah anyway so far lined up at wakestock are N-Dubz, Plan B, Sub Focus, Chase and Status and some others which i can think of off the top of my head.

but basically im wondering what festivals have you been/going to, what sort of music is there, just the general feel of the festival :)

oh im also going a Prodigy gig which i can not wait for, chase and status, enter shakari, pendulum and some other supporting should be awesome.

You can probly see im into by DnB and Uk scene :p (but fuck tinchy stryder, chipmunk and those fags, proper Uk rappers not Hip-Pop faags)

Goa trance is the best thing in the world at these kinda festivals :D
But where I'm going for the summer (Ottawa) There really isnt anything I can find straight off.

Prodigy are nearly always fantastic :D:D but if pendulum have their instruments out. skip'em XD They were atrocious at Download last year xD

I'm always up for some camping-festival fun. :D

everyone should post their recommendations methinks :D

..These festivals always make me smile :D:D:D:D

I just went to Shamrock Fest this past weekend. It is a big Celtic Rock concert in Washington DC every Saturday before St. Patrick's Day. Just saw Tossers and Carbon Leaf. Found out about Scythians and Enter the Haggis. Would have seen Street Dogs but I was wet and cold and had somewhere to be at 8 and they started at 7:30.
Going to try and find something to go to over the summer. Maybe a Jazz or Blues festival. I would love to go the New Orleans Jazz Festival, but school interferes.

I've got tickets for Lowlands [http://www.lowlands.nl] again this year, this will be the 8th time I'll be going there. I've been to a few others as well.

haha wonder if lethal bizzle turns up again this year :p
I honestly have no idea whom or what that is. I assume it is a secret military project that has escaped into the wild?

Have wanted to go to many over the years, have only managed to get to one...Wacken Open Air 2003.

45k+ metalheads...all wearing black...during the worst heatwave Europe had experienced in the past century. Yikes. I literally passed out from heat exhaustion during a marathon run of bands on the last afternoon (stupid of me to be out there for all of them in that weather, but there were so many good groups in a row I didn't want to miss any of them.)

Despite the heat, it was one hell of a great time. Really relaxed party atmosphere...no judgemental shit no matter how people were dressed or what anybody was listening to in their own space or where anybody was from, no fights...everybody just got along really well because there was a general attitude of "metal brotherhood."

Some people just hung around the campgrounds, never went to see a single band, just hung out and had fun...some like me went to every band they could no matter how tired they were...most were in between. I was disappointed at first because the scheduled Dark Angel reunion didn't happen (vocalist was injured) and the scheduled headliner for the first full night - Iced Earth - cancelled out due to Matt Barlow leaving the band...but I.E. was replaced by the band that got me into metal in the first place, namely Twisted Sister (laugh all you want, I still love 'em) - and they rocked like hell.

I'm going to 'T in the Park' this summer.
It's in Scotland but I'm willing to endure that since it has an awesome line up.

I'm not much of a festival-head. I don't see the appeal, for every good band you get, theres always 2 or 3 that you don't like.

Doesn't sound like it's going to be good. Can't stand any of those. Especially N-Dubz. They're an audible holocaust.

I saw Pendulum live a couple of years ago and they were okay, but it really gave me the opinion that drum and bass just doesn't sound that great Live.

Download, if it has a good line up. Sonisphere possibly as it's quite close to where I'm gonna be staying and it's new. Reading/Leeds, again, lineup depending... just because it was such a good laugh last year.

Of course, need to figure out how I'm going to afford one of these aswell but that's a seperate issue. What do you guys think the festival catchphrases are gonna be this year? Last year we had the likes of 'buttscratcher! BUTTSCRATCHER!'(Family Guy) and 'GREEN ARMY!!'(that bloody advert...) among others.

I am going Sonisphere. It should be good fun.
Edit: The UK one, so not as fun as it could be in Poland.

I often hit SXSW in Austin, TX. Music, food, beer......mmmm, lots of beer especialy since it usually occurs during ST. Pat's day. Sadly, I doubt I'll make it this year. Work is dumb.
