I will not even go through each page...but I guess Rap is the most hated here? wow I am so suprised

For me: Metal of any kind sounds like dogwank.

Also Pink Floyd, whatever genre that pile of poop is in
Are you saying that Progressive Rock is bad?
It is when you do Rock Operas (Floyd) or a 3 part orchestra thing (Muse).
So the idea to incorporate new ideas to music and give them symphonic elements is bad.

Sounds like your just against new ideas.
New ideas into music are obviously a good thing. Rock Operas on the otherhand are not a good thing and just add to the Pretentious 'Prog Rock' genre. Also the 3 part Symphony for The Resistance was a massive amount of filler.
I didnt like resistance, it was a poppy bore for me.

Anyway if Pink Floyd can pull off rock opera, than why not.

People keep saying Prog Rock is so pretentious, and ive never understood any of that, to me its a genre where i will never dislike anything, muscisians embracing diffrent influences and genres to make grand and majestic music, at the same time having alot of technical ability and alot of new ideas, they seek to break conventions which makes them experimental. If they can pull that off, then why do people have to hate them for it.
The best thing Progressive rock ever did: Gave birth to punk.

And why is that, what is sooo bad about making music that breaks conventions?
You havent ansewered my question though, why must there be a disliking of music and bands that attempts to be diffrent and to have ideas.
Same reason as Games: Ideas are dangerous things which, if done right, can be brilliant and industry changing (e.g. Ok Computer, Wolfenstien) if done wrongly, can be steaming piles of festering shit (e.g. Rock Operas or Tresspasser).

Also I believe that Progressive Rock in Pink Floyd's time became bloated and festering until the general populance became sick of it and created Punk

Ska (because it's Ska, you don't really need more reasons)
Sorry but you're gonna need to do a bit better with your words if you are trying to convince people.

Long live Ska!!!

I was going to say rap, but then I realized you asked for a style of music.

On, and Pink Floyd and U2. I know they aren't representative of any genre as a whole, but they should all burn for the music they make. Pretentious waffle.
But... But... Pink Floyd are amazing.

Rap and Techno.

Techno is often just someone smashing their head on a keyboard with random sound effects bound to keys.
Some techno is different. I was actually quite surprised how much variety of techno there is. I thought it was all just the same drum beat.

It has to be Retards Attempting Poetry for me.
Seriously, I've had enough of it. Not a single day goes by without me hearing it beating in the corridors of my school.
IT'S DRIVING ME INSANE!
I think you are tarring all rap with the same brush. There is some intelligent stuff out there. Sadly, the kind of kids that play it loudly in the corridor aren't likely to listen to the actual decent stuff.

I have to say I do like songs from a lot of different sorts of genres, but the one and only genre of music that makes me want to punch the maker of the song in the face is techno!. Fuck I hate Techno.
How do you define techno? Actual techno, or just every form of electronic dance music?

OT: Personally, I hate the whole gangster rap thing, like 50 Cent and his ilk. I can't stand all the sugary trancepop eurodance crap. Country is really boring to me. To be honest, anything slow and downtempo I don't really like. Maybe I am just too impatient, but I need uptempo music to keep me interested.

Oh, I also dislike most of the heavier metal types, like Deathmetal and that stuff.

for me it would be...
1) Country Music
2) Rap- Its just some no talents talking or shouting with background music
3) Pop or anyone that uses auto tune!
So, like many people in the world, you don't like some genres of music. What are we supposed to conclude from this? What is the purpose of this thread, except to say "I don't like [stuff]"?
Prolly: "I don't like stuff and hope to find many, many like-minded individuals so I feel justified and strengthened in my not liking stuff."

It's an attempt to gather critical (SUBJECTIVE) mass in order to say:
"This or that "OBJECTIVELY" sucks and if you like it there is something wrong with you...so you better start liking the things we like."

In other words: granting to opinion the force of fact, believing it to be "reality".

Why? Cuz people are by nature scared and seek validation.

I don't think there is a single genre of music I don't enjoy at least one song from.

I hate these threads. They always turn out into " I HATE RAP" and then a bunch of people pat each other on the back about how great metal is.

I guess I can't stand emo music. I just can't take the singing style and the lyrics usually make me laugh more than feel sad/sympathetic.

I don't think so, personally, but whatever, it's all opinions.
To be fair, I can only really listen to half of their songs, mainly The Wall album and Darkside of the Moon album. Some of it is a bit too melodramatic.

Electronic music. All of it's sub-genres, too.
Electronic music isn't even a genre. How can you hate ALL electronic music?

The types of music I generally avoid are Country, Rap, Blues, Polka, Classical, and (sorry) Christian/religous-type music. I can make exceptions, though.

Most modern pop, country, screamo, rap, R&B, funk, punk, indie and death metal.

Yes, I'm quite selective.
