I have mixed musical tastes! Whee! The general bits are as follows:

Frank Sinatra, Metallica, Muse, MC Frontalot, The Airborne Toxic Event, The Beatles, The Doors, The Eagles, Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, 7 Seconds of Love, and Iron Maiden.

In order: swing, metal, alternative/pop, nerdcore rap, indie thingy pop stuff, classic rock, rock, folk rock, folk, folk, ska, and metal.

Season with Sublime, System of a Down, Jonathan Coulton, and the BioShock instrumental score to taste.

Lots of slow stuff and folky stuff; I'm a sucker for that. Also, it's 95% of the time a requirement with me that I can tell what the fuck the singer is saying during the songs, or I won't listen to it. Exception is System of a Down. For some reason, I enjoy their weirdery.

I thought we were lacking in the music department in the off-topic part of the forum,
so I was wondering what everyones favourite music is.

For me it always comes back to The White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Arctic Monkeys
What about yourselves?
Wow... will you marry me so I can have your selection of music?

I need some Meiko and Feist in my day too though.

umm for me it's mostly industrial and it's subgenres, metal, Mike Patton and Primus, yes those last 2 deserve their own genre

tho i usually fall back to industrial and it's various subgenres because they are the most diverse and innovative bands out there

Mostly metal. Everything from System of a Down to Carcass. I also listen to alot of 70-80's rock. Zeppelin... Hendrix... BoC... On my really calm days I like to listen to stuff like Kaizers Orchestra, Tori Amos, John Butler Trio... Hell, some old school rap like Public Enemy can be pretty awesome too. It all depends on my mood.

Anything really. Mainly rock/ punk/ metal but I have loads of other tastes. Right now whenever I say my favourite band, I'll always say Radiohead, but I'm starting to get into Dead Kennnedys and other stuff as well.

I don't like saying I like a genre, mostly because I listen to a lot of indie stuff, and when I say that people think of a completly different set of bands to what I listen to. here's a few bands I like right now;

The Shins
Radiohead
The Decemberists
Fleet Foxes
They Might Be Giants
Modest Mouse

Billy Bragg (If you know who this is, cookie for you.)

I could go on...

EDIT: Eeek! My post count is 666. Spooky.
