I play the saxaphone and occasionally acoustic guitar, and I'm good at the former but suck at the latter.
Saxophones are awesome. Especially sleaze sax, a sort of noir jazz if you will.

I've been playing guitar since high school. I prefer acoustic over electric, first song I ever learned was Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, one of my favorites.

They don't technically call it being a musician but I sing.

Practically anything from from musicals to prog rock, as long as there's a melodic vocal.

I sometimes 'jam' along some impromptu vocals with a couple musicians I know. Not necessarily words. But I can string together some lyrics to a tune as well. I'm still a bit doubtful on whether I want to join a band, usually they're not short on male vocals and its hard to find people with my taste in music who aren't at least twenty years older than me and a million times more experienced.

I'm doing Electric Bass at uni

I'm also working on my keyboard skillz so I can use protools and reason with a midi keyboard better.

I do love bass!

I could go on and on about it all but really.. No one will read it =P

I am with the violin. And the singing, actually.

My main acoustic is an early 20th Century remake of a 1685 Nicolaus Amatus which I received from my grandmother.

My electric is a Carlo Giordano. It's pretty. And purple. And sexier than just about anything.

No amps yet, I've been lazy. I want to get some pedals too. For that truely brutal sound.
That is one fantastic instrument, right there..... I've only ever tried playing an electric cello once, and it wasn't really all that good (people have yet to find out how to make electric cellos that are as high-quality as elecrtic violins)

Now, how old is your acoustic violin, within the 20th century, that is?

D'oh.....Double posts and there posters should die......

I play the cello, and it's the most awesomest thing in da world.

Let's see- my main cello is only a year old, made last summer in Chicago by a very nice Polish man.... It's a really wonderful instrument, and I didn't even have to pay that much for it, considering what an opulent sound it can produce...

Oh, and my bow was made in Paris in 1900

I play blues guitar. the 60s Clapton stuff is probably the nearest thing to my style right now. but i had a massive fluctuation in trying to play like David Gilmour fo a long time, I've only recently got back to blues.

I have a degree in clarinet performance (Bb, A, and Eb), and used to play the piano. I also minored in Composition, and had a second major in Audio production and recording

I used to play the Cello really well, but not anymore...

Right now I'm learning the Ocarina and Piano and I would be learning how to play the drums if I could get my own drumkit.

I like the Ocarina because it's a wind instrument that you don't have to blow on so hard that you make stupid faces :D
Also Link plays it :D <3

I play the piano and am currently attempting to teach myself to play the guitar. Apparently, I play the guitar upside down and backwards, and since I'd rather not adapt to a new playing style I have to teach myself. Its going well, so far.

You strum with your left hand right?
Your a lefty then.
I had the same problem when I tried to learn guitar, I didn't figure it out till Guitar Hero enlightened me on the whole "Lefty Flip" thing.
Almost all guitars are made for rightys.

I played the djembe and doumbek in drum circles many times. I attempted to take music lessons for guitar, piano, violin...nothing ever clicked. I guess I just need something easy to improvise with a low learning curve.

Ah the majesty of being self taught

If you want to play for any reason other then "pick it once a month and mess about" then get someone to teach you.. You pick up so many little mistakes..

At the very least look up some stuff on ultimate-guitar.com

I don't actually know. I believe it was made pre-1940 however.

I play electric bass and guitar. I play a lot of metal and alt. rock, and I'm being taught jazz bass.

I can think of two popular guitarists who play like that. Albert King and Doyle Bramhall II.
