MW2 anguish...

So ive been adamant against buying MW2 for PC as they completely screwed us over in every way possible for MP. I still refuse to buy the game for PC come release, but as I see the first few reviews come out (all 100s) I'm starting to wonder if I should buy the game for PS3 or wait to see how the MP is on PC and eventually buy it after a month or so. I think I got caught up in all the angry stuff but as the great reviews start to come in I think I need to be more rationale and just see what people who play the game have to say. I loved MW1 and maybe IW didnt completely screw up the MP on PC and it might still be intact. I dunno though. Anyone else in the same position?

I'm in a similar boat. I'm boycotting it for the 360, but I'm beginning to have second thoughts. Not enough to convince me to get it over Assassin's Creed 2, but enough to consider it for the future.

Yes, except I just went out and bought it. Installing now, going to catch some sleep and play it tomorrow. I'll tell you how it is.

Too bad none of the topics are about people who were against buying the game because of their screwing with PC players and now wondering if I should buy it because reviews are now coming in and are really good. Pretty sure nobody has brought up the reviews the game has started to get since that started today... So learn to hate correctly. You fail.

If the PC multiplayer is the same as console then whats the reason not to buy it on the PC since even if the multiplayer does end up sucking you can just play Quake live instead

I've got to say that there's a massive contradiction in boycotting the game for PC and still buying it for a console, (unless you are one of those multi-platform buyers who I've never understood of course.) If you were going to buy CoD:MW2 for PC and after all this mess recently have decided not to buy it but then decided "oh, well it looks good so I'll get it for my PS3/360" - You're doin' it wrong.

By boycotting you're trying to send a message to a company, that message being "I will not settle for your bullshit!" This message fails to impact if you're still handing over your money. As long as you're still giving the company money they won't care what platform you're buying for. If you really feel that Activision/IW is doing wrong with all this and you want to send a message, (even if it will be muted by Activison and Infinity Ward sticking all their money in their ears and going "pthbthbthb",) then don't buy it at all.

Luckily for console gamers you can still play the game if you rent it which is a good way of doing it because it doesn't benefit Activision/IW but you still get to play the game.

So true. Why are people proclaiming "I HATE ACTIVISION AND IW FOR RUINING MY PC GAMING. So therefore I will buy it on the console." This is terrible logic, they're still getting the money anyway.

If they see that console sales of a game go up, but PC go down, they'll just abbandon PC gamers altogether. This might be a bit extreme but you're destroying your own part of gaming lads, so either sit down and shut up, or stick to your principles and don't buy it AT ALL.

Just hold your wallets for a couple of months if you want to boycott it but don't actually want to NOT play it (heaven forbid). Poor 0-day sales are horrible things in big business so if all the people who are peeved enough about it to not want to buy it but lack the moral integrity to ... actually NOT buy it can wait a few more months to do so, you could still make a statement.

Video game boycotts never worked, and will never work. People are too easily swayed by bullshit like review scores (see thread).

Or by a few journalists who make a mountain out of a molehill (see forum upset over something no one has tried yet).
